IF YOU USE BLOCKCHAIN.INFO as your wallet service, secure it now by doing the following:

-- Enable Secondary password
-- Enable 2auth
-- Turn on IP Logging and history

Believe me...My wallet has been hacked on two occasions, once with 20BTC (2013) and once with 3.5BTC (2014). It's a terrible feeling losing money, so take the precautions and don't lose your money.
By doing this, I've stored as much as 85BTC in a wallet for over a week. My wallet is secure, and I have not been hacked since.

Why take these precautions? Proof of the exploit/hackers? Blockchain.info is the most convenient yet most exploited/risky wallet to use for bitcoin, and here is the evidence....

WHY YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO THIS THREAD....
I'm not the only one warning you, here are some news articles and PERSONAL STORIES from forums, even some from HF, of people using Blockchain.info with unsecure wallets and getting hacked.

You shouldn't use blockchain as a wallet, simple as that.
I'm surprised that people with high amounts of BTC are using online wallets.
I don't middleman any deals on- or off-site. Please don't message me requesting my past services and certainly don't fall for anybody who claims to be me.

It's the most convenient option...Bitcoin core takes days, sometimes weeks on first sync...Armory needs bitcoin core + it's own DB for syncing... MultiBit is a good client though lacks features, same with electrum.
blockchain is a simple and easy option, it can be used if you secure it as I've directed in OP. Main thing is having two strong passwords, 2auth and online backups off, and you'll be fine.

As stated above, it's purely for convenience. It's the most convenient solution out there.
I never keep more then 1k in my online wallet, and I have every possible security activated.

bitcoin need more people with a mindset like this...I've highlighted in bold from your post what everyone using bitcoin, or even on the web should be able to say for any account they possess

Convenience shouldn't be something you worry about if you keep more than $50 worth of BTC in a wallet.

I love how you specify "bitcoin need more people with a mindset like this."

I totally agree with you, though not all people think like us, hence, a lot more people get hacked because of this.
And it is very true, if everyone had a "security over convenience" mindset, this thread would not be needed. People these days are all living in "how can I shortcut" type of mindset instead of doing things the right way.

Yes, I'm a trader, though I'm not sure how this relates to this thread...unless you're trying to insult me because I'm a trader and I was hacked? If you need clarification:
First occasion I was only new to crypto currency, was only worth around $1.8k when I was hacked.
Second time my wallet was perfectly safe, though my partners was hacked and we lost 3.5BTC.

Have you heard of those USB keys? If so, do you recommend them

Trading is definitely a key factor, it's a lot more profitable in the crypto field thanks to volatility, rather than stock trading fiat.
When you say USB Keys do you mean hardware such as Trezor? If so then yes, I 100% support the use of those, they are an extremely safe option.

There is another one called Yubikey, https://www.yubico.com/products/yubikey-.../yubikey4/

Its also supported by blockchain and other sites.

Some of these reports are actually related to yubikey, I would not recommend that. Standard google 2auth does the job and hasn't failed me at all.
LMAO, i woke up this morning with 25+ email notifications that I had successfully logged into my BTC-E account. I haven't logged into that account in a couple of years. So if you use BTC-e you may wan to change your password. luckily i didnt lose anything because I had less than $5 in any coin. best of luck to ya.
