Mentors and Moderators Permission Changes

As I said earlier, report the threads in your section.

That thread is for the threads Morchid has moved and are not reportable, so its just undoing and the thread is temporary.

So yeah, report the thread in your section and do not junk unless they break rules. :😉
The only downside is that reports will take longer to be reviewed and it will take longer to be trashed.

Mentors/mods can, however, leave a post or some notice for staff to delete it, and close them meanwhile, right?

I used to clean up the lounge and a few other busy sections a few times a day.

That will probably do the trick (:

Or who knows if Omni creates a button for you guys to secretly flag threads, with a limit of like 40 per hour. This wouldn't allow flooding of this function by possibly compromised mentor accounts and would be easier for the staff to just "approve" your deletions.

I can see this being a huge problem for the Minecraft section, the most common problem is threads are in the wrong section. I mean it's not like Dan is very active in the SF anymore anyway, but just throwing this out there.
Only use HF to deal.

Now let's get some cocaine and hookers

If we work, we do so on our own initiative. We don't have to do anything. It means less things we can do when we're bored :)

So don't PM Mentors or Moderators to move your threads. They can't.

Thank you.

You should make it so if only a post is reported the mods can move it. Otherwise they cant!

Thanks!
It looks like this was one of the things that just had to happen. Unfortunate, but there are malicious people out there.

I think a quota would be good, but not right away.

I'm going to take a qualified guess and say because it's not natively supported in MyBB and would require a plugin.

That would be a hassle, because we have no idea which threads are reported.

Not sure if this is possible but maybe omni can make a table in the db as isReported if its 0 that means its not. When a post is reported it turns to 1. Then on mybb use a simple php script to chech if the post is reported via the db and show the appropriate options!

There's no need to add anything to the database, you can already figure it out pretty easily. There would just have to be a plugin that shows some kind of flag on the post. If it was just about adding the limitation we would either have to click the report button every time to check or just try to moderate and later realize that we weren't allowed to do so.
Also we could just report the post ourselves, so that would have to be accounted for as well.
Shame to see changes like this have to be made necessary, but it is what it is.

This would be best if possible, imo.
unfortunate that because of one member, the entire usergroup of people with elevated permissions must have restrictions placed on them. However, at this time this is whats for the best I presume.

Nice work on the forum Omni.
Can only wonder what lead up to this..

True didnt think of mentors reporting posts so they can moderate them... Then the 10 threads per hour sounds good too!
Good to know this info.

Thanks Omniscient.
