Mentors and Moderators Permission Changes

(Jan 24, 2016 11:47 AM)SkullTraill Wrote:  This is a pretty big blow to the moderation capabilities. Now all threads in the wrong section will be junked instead of moved.

Then again, most mods did that anyway cause they were too lazy.

If you see a Mentor JUNKing a thread that should simply just be moved, you should report that behavior to Omniscient. Mentors can use the report button for Wrong Forum like all other users. They are regular members and should not be considered moderators like Staff/Admin.

Sorry, I need both quotes for my next sig.

So now, the ones moving all those reported threads back into the right sections are all done currently by staffs not mentors?

I think this idea is good and will also help the members if by mistake they made a thread in wrong forum .And also it will not effect the security .
🤝
Kinda sucks for group owners. :(

My group SF has 2 more SF's within it. I can't move threads amongst them anymore.

Guess I'll be giving Roger a shout when I need something done now. xD

Edit: Can't view Thread Notes anymore either. 😭
I can see why it's done, but it was sad that it had too be.
What if the ability of moving threads in the correct section (limited to two moves) was moved to the user that posted them? And if he would misuse that ability he would get a warning.

Probably. I don't interact much with hf members so I can't really say if they are responsible enough to use that ability well. Maybe if it was an uber feature?

Not a good idea to give everyone the ability to move threads.

Too much room for error.

Will do if and when that happens next. Also, sup Xerotic.

Let's make the whole forum an ub3r feature while we're at it.

able to move threads? Might as well just close this thread:
https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5145332

if not.

OP clearly says "sectional mods". So these people can no longer move threads -> https://hackforums.net/showmods.php
