[RANT] Are you out of your fucking mind?

At least now, someone has spoken about it. I really request people to stop doing that. Only people who really deserve to have the positive reputation to be able to post in the market place should be allowed to post over there or do any kind of deal.

Let them earn their right to post there.

Just neg these kids then. They'll learn eventually (hopefully).

Normally members post pointing them in the right direction, members are not obligated to give that individual reputation, members do it out of generosity I guess which is fine and allowed.

Why on earth are members doing transactions with newly registered people? That is their own fault for not taking precautions by looking at their join date.
You do realize this would be inevitable to prevent due to how many upgraded members there are on this forum. You can't restrict members for granting reputation because they may find a newcomer friendly and respectful.

Did you even care to read the thread? Who on earth said anything about genuine question? If you feel genuine question is "I want to sell, why I cant post in marketplace" then I have no idea since when you used Hackforums? It's obvious multi accounts and scammers who figured an easy way to access HF marketplace. When they try to post (the genuine ones) they see it asks for reputation, only dumb people wont figure it out.

And I'm not restricting anyone, all I asked is are you out of your fucking mind, applying to those who visit this section often and toss reps out as if they are piece of paper. It's a ticket to marketplace, and once that members scam none asks how originally he got rep and from who. And the worst part is, scam probably happens normal to normal member, so the poor guy with no rep cant post deal dispute? And it could all be prevented by not giving rep when they ask such stupid questions. Simple as that.

This is just a rant over something which is common sense.

But none implicitly said "give me rep", its just those HF Robin Hoods who hand out reps to members who knows how to exploit it. And how exactly will you blame anyone when Staff isnt involved? I'm not here to set rules, I'm here to rant how most people have no common sense whatsoever, and maybe just maybe after reading this it will stop, am I dreaming to much? I couldnt care less but someone had to speak about this issue and ask community as a whole to stop us all from looking like idiots and stop Omni from restricting shit cause we're dumb fucks. More clear now? I wasnt gonna argue lol, just open your eyes to issues this community is facing each day and fix it by ourselves, no staff, no admins no shit, but us.

Don't be Ignorant, Not all post to scam there are actually people that use it legitimately also not all of them are multi's just because they're inquiring about rep but there's ways that you can take precaution before handing out rep like checking that they're HQ in there posts for example do a trust scan, see how long they're joined for etc... But if it's a recently joined member going " want to sell something but no rep " for example then It's alright to not hand out any reputation cause they obviously wouldn't deserve it they have to earn it but yet again not all new members know how to get rep most people say be HQ but that really doesn't do the trick( cause they dont really know how to ), also there could be various reason they'd want to post like buying an ebook and they want to post there transaction ID for example ( this is for the people that are new and can't pm ) And sooner or later they will get rep regardless they can fake being hq and helping until they receive rep and then start scamming so just ranting about this is completely stupid and i highly doubt anything is going to done. also for the "Scamming part" It's on the user's side for being a complete dumbass and trusting a new member and i dont actually believe people fall for that anymore now a days you do get those people now and then but still hardly

You basically said what I said and I'm ignorant? You're not here long enough to fully understand what I meant.

If they want to post in Marketplace for purchase they should have 25 posts and PM seller for a rep. (I do that and give them neutral that I eventually change).

If they want to sell as new members, they can give away few copies/keys whatever they sell to prove legitimacy. (not entirely good but still somewhat ok)

If they joined today, 20 mins later they ask how to get rep to sell, and they get rep, does that sound correct to you? Thats all I pointed out. And to help regular users who dont use marketplace often, rep shouldnt be handed out, or lets just let everyone use marketplace, fuck the rules, right? Dont call me ignorant, I've seen this shit happen for years, if we can help ourselves not to ruin marketplace, then we should do just that.

OPs point is not only valid, but seeing this constantly happen is annoying, although many members might have a valid reason to want to post in restrictive sections, it defeats the rules and ultimatly gives new users the impression they can find circumventive measures around these same rules.

Personally these type of threads should be answered with a -10 just to prove the point rules are in place for a reason. Earn the right to post in these sections like everyone else.

//Edit - to add to this, numerous of these same members proceed to immediatly commit market place violations. Another reason I suspect the limitation is in place to begin with.
It's quite simple.
Don't trust randoms?

I was wondering when someone was going to say something about this. It's about time it get's told what people are doing, I just assumed everyone knew this was a general rule of thumb not to deal with newer members.

This. Thank you, finally someone who truly understands the issue here.

I wont, but random will trust random because someone +repped him. Thats the issue here, without staff involving we can make a safe enviroment for new members too.

I mean I see your point, but all it takes is some common sense and a quick look at the dispute section to realize rep doesn't mean shit

But what is "random" to you? You still get upgrades with 100+ Rep scamming people, selling their accounts, buying rep and so on.

I'm talking about regular users, not upgraded ones. Are you missing my point here?

I definitely agree with this. It is an absurd practice that honestly makes no sense at all (giving the members rep JUST so they can trade in the Marketplace). I personally believe instead of one or more positive reputation (1+) that it should be 10 or more positive reputation (10+) to post in the Marketplace. It would help curb some of the effects of this odd practice.

If the member receives positive rep just for the question, I will give them a negative rep to cancel it out and tell them to earn it. Why make all this effort to protect the market place when some jackass can easily circumvent by making a Quick Thread hinting they need rep?
