Don't Let Users Junk Threads In Deal Dispute Section

Reading Omniscient's reply to this thread here:

Quote:If you did resolve it then that's good and members can see you resolved a dispute. But they should also see the fact you may have had a PP issue and that maybe dealing with you via PP isn't their best choice.

He obviously agrees that even after a dispute has been resolved, users should still be able to see it so they can still take appropriate cautions.

I think that only staff should be able to junk their threads in the deal dispute section. I was just looking at somebody's scam reports in the deal dispute database and I can't view the actual thread because it's been deleted. I won't deal with this user for other reasons but I still think we should be able to see these past threads as they are important to consider when dealing with somebody.

Oppositions to this suggestion:
What if I accidentally make a thread in this section?
- Staff can delete it?

Does anybody else agree that this is necessary? Just because somebody resolves a dispute doesn't mean it should be deleted (imo).

Feedback please. 👍

If it has been resolved the thread isn't relevant anymore. There are people making sales on here. Don't agree to this but that's just my point of view.
I don't agree with this and I have reasoning ofc.

In the past paypal has reversed payments on their own without consent of the owner of the account. This being said, sometimes a deal dispute might be opened for that, as the seller/buyer will pay it back, the thread does not need to be there.
Be back.

The possibility is still there.

Even if it's been resolved within seconds the customer should still be able to read through the thread and see what the problem was
Once a scammer always a

I agree with this. Also put the deal dispute numbers under the warning level
I buy Amazon Gift Cards & Crypto for CashApp. PM me if you're selling
This is actually a great idea. i don't see why people have problems with this. If the deal dispute is resolved, then no reason for you to worry.

Logical suggestion with good intentions, nice idea.
I don't middleman any deals on- or off-site. Please don't message me requesting my past services and certainly don't fall for anybody who claims to be me.
Most people are too lazy to read through someone's account history. If something is caused by some unintentional problem and they fix it then no need to leave it there when most users are too lazy to paste a link to see something is fixed. Bad idea with the laziness of people in general who would rather back out of a deal then take 5 seconds to search something. Besides anybody with the ethics to scam most likely isn't going to resolve anything so no need to practically put decent people who run into unknown issues into the same category. Dumb idea to take people's option away to clear things up.
Submit your dispute to the DisputeDB so even if the thread does get disputed users will know what the outcome of the dispute was...

You can see it was resolved but you can not see what it was actually about because the thread is gone.

I do agree with you, because this will provide the explanation on what happened.

Pretty much what I would have posted. In more or less detail.
I personally junked a deal dispute thread a couple of weeks ago as the user became banned, and I didn't see a rule saying I am not allowed to.

But if I say any other opinion, I will be seen as to suspicious, so its best if I keep my mouth shut.
