Not sure why I didn't receive the email you sent out to all upgraded members. I never had problems with my current email (Protonmail) with HF before.

It is needed in my opinion. Two Factor Authentication is another layer of defense against account attacks. It is not meant to replace passwords, and as such your password should still be as secure as possible for the website.

I am not that worried personally regarding the password reset, as I used a random password with LastPass.

Suggestions for those who reset their passwords:
  • Do not use easy to guess information or weak passwords
  • Use either long random sets of text, or a secure phrase that is easy to remember
  • Do not use the password you choose for HF on any other website (all passwords should be unique in a optimal scenario)
  • The longer/more secure the password, The longer it would take to crack it's hash
  • If you just can't be bothered using a good password, you may want to look into a password manager like LastPass to do it for you.
