Wanting to start drawing Anime/Cartoons/Comics.

Hi all, title says it all really. I've wanted to start drawing some Anime/Cartoon/Comics on my computer, can anyone suggest anyone programmes or tips to help get me started? Many thanks in advance.

Most commonly used programs are Photoshop CC and Paint Tool SAI. Both are pretty great, but Paint Tool SAI is really good for coloring your line art.
Thanks for the info I appreciate it.
there's all kinds of tutorials on youtube

Yeah I've started having a look through YouTube/Google, thanks.
Get a mid end wacom tablet or a generic brand with good reviews.

Yeaah I would if I had the money lol
What you want to do first (Which helped me) is start drawing characters off the top of my head. When I did that, I could start imagining things and slowly get better at drawing them until I was able to come up with something and puty it on paper exactly how I imagined it!
I draw this type of stuff for a living so I'd be happy to give you a couple tips and suggestions.

If you're planning on being a digital artist I strongly advise you upgrade to an Intuos drawing pad at some time, the pro 5 series gives professional results without murdering the budget like some other tablets can.

The bread and butter of your drawings will be Paint Tool Sai which you will draw them in and Photoshop which you will do final edits and even coloring in.
Personally I suggest doing all your drawings and lineart in PTS (Paint Tool Sai) and perhaps a basic color and ping-ponging between Photoshop and PTS to get the best mix for the final piece.

When drawing in PTS it's best to work on a rather larger canvas, you'll get used to it after some practice and working on a larger canvas allows you to fit more detail and design without losing quality on the smaller details and sizing down a big image almost always ensure lossless quality versus working on a smaller canvas and sizing it up.

When you're starting out drawing I suggest you practice drawing circles and triangles.
Draw them at least 50 times each daily to teach yourself precise motor functions, do this for a month and you will jump a few hard learning curves.

Lastly don't get sad or depressed when things don't work out easily, everything takes time to develop and if you practice you will get better.

Hope you can work off some of those, good luck!

I'd love to start, thanks for all the advice, very useful, much appreciated! I'd give you positive feedback if I knew how.
