Update on Soft Bans / Perm Bans

(Aug 12, 2016 12:59 AM)Mephaela Wrote:  You shouldn't be attempting to bot multiple bots at once anyway unless you're using a proxy? If you even try you get instantly soft banned, this has been a thing for what, a week or more now?

Whatever you're running is more than likely saying it's a temp IP ban when it's actually just an account soft ban... Are those proxied? If they're not individually proxied then you're doing it wrong, and that's why you're getting an error.

You completely missed the point. In the OP, you said "soft bans are no longer IP Based." I decided to test that theory out.

"Whatever you're running is more than likely saying it's a temp IP ban when it's actually just an account soft ban"

I'm the creator of this program; I know exactly what causes this warning. It'll only show up when 0 forts are found. That happens on temp IP bans and locations with 0 forts. Both are mentioned in the message.

Were you even banned?

Edit: Nope.

Edit: Nope.

Because they're not IP based, they're account based, that's why if you change IP's, you're still soft banned.... Thus proving it's an account based Soft ban, NOT an IP based soft ban. Up until a few hours ago, you could remove any soft ban by simply changing IP's, this is no longer the case.

Once again, I don't see your reason to argue when you literally keep proving my original point, soft bans are now ACCOUNT BASED, NOT IP BASED.

Sorry if you think that. The previous picture you posted was not the new type of ban, unless everyone gets different errors (would indicate server issues more). If it was, you wouldn't be able to catch the pokemon.

That picture was a normal softban bypass, which he also is incorrectly saying is removed.

Quote:Yes, before spinning the pokestops would eventually get you unbanned, but Niantic has removed this, so it's no longer a way to get unbanned.

All bans and bypasses are still in place. There's only new bans.

Edit: Got more information from both pictures put together. Second picture shows logs for every softban attempt. First picture shows logs on "last" softban attempt. Means that it's a bot error in the first.

... But I just proved that statement wrong.

Bot 5 accounts, get yourself temp IP banned.
Bot a new account, can you find stops?

If yes, account based.
If no, IP based.

The only way I can get you to believe this is to get you to test it out yourself. My test went to IP based.

There is a new type of ban that's account based. All other types of bans/bypasses still exist.

I've been testing this for the past 3 hours, I have accounts running on IP's that were just used for an account that got soft banned, and my accounts on the SAME IP have been running for 2 and a half hours with no problems. Therefore: Account based, NOT IP BASED. If it was IP based, I would not be able to run a second account 30 seconds after on the same IP that the first account just got banned...

I don't say things without testing them thoroughly.

Not all previous bans exist, no, I have worked with a few video games in the past, removing previous bans that you are able to get out of is a very common thing to happen.

You sound as stupid as everyone else on these forums labeling this a 'ban'. So after six hours you cN conclude its a ban then indeed be specific that it's a account ban.

OP some of your information is wrong/misleading.
Other guy, you're tryna point out that its wrong but its just becoming too much of a headache to read rn.

You're thinking differently than me.

== Account based banned ==
- Identified by constant fleeing pokemon.
- May also get "NotInRange" status on pokestops.
- No one knows what causes them or length.
- Most people get them on higher level accounts.
- Started happening earlier today.
- GetMapObjects request still works.

== Temp IP based ban ==
- Causes 0 forts to be displayed in GetMapObjects request.
- - The only other times this happens is when you request GetMapObjects more than twice in 7-8 seconds or requesting a location without forts.
- Happens when you bot multiple accounts at once.
- May be possible to get 2 or 3 running at slower settings.
- Waiting it out is the only way to get rid of it without changing IPs.

== Perm IP based ban ==
- Impossible to access the API.
- Occurs mainly on commercial ISPs than residential.
- Changing IP is the only way to get around it.

== Softban ==
- Identified by 0 exp on searching a pokestop & constant fleeing pokemon.
- Occurs when traveling large distances too fast.
- Possible to bypass by completing actions.
- All public bots attempt to bypass.

Out of the 30 or so accounts I'm running, I have at least 1 IP/Account that falls under one of those bans.

Some people are just in the mood to argue, will never find the answer to this or be able to understand it.
