Wow. These are great instructions. Really HQ thread. I'm sure this will help out a few people.
On another note you seem like the kind of guy who knows what he's talking about with Wi-Fi antennas and such. I want to get a really big but hopefully somewhat cheap antenna that I could stick on my roof or put outside on the grass. I don't really want it to be specific to one direction. I'd like to be able to pick up wifi from all directions for let's say maybe 6-7 houses over. What would you suggest? (Sep 14, 2015 10:42 AM)Burakku Kenshi Wrote: Wow. These are great instructions. Its complicated at the same time cos of the interference from other routers that works close to the same channel/same channel, long distance will just kill the router signals, because the router who is closer to you will owerpower the weak router, that will disappear in the background noise However If you live in a quiet place (Not that many routers around) its possible to catch a signal from far away with the right antenna (Sep 14, 2015 10:59 AM)Mad76e Wrote: Its hard to tell without knowing more abt the environment like threes/bushes walls and such.. Not very many buildings. I doubt there are many modems/routers. Like I said i'd prefer something that would work a nice distance in any direction and could be put on a roof or in the grass. Right now i'm on the ground but I know we are moving soon and I might be getting up on the side of a mountain. If that's the case I would probably use a directional antenna. But for right now i'd like to get something that would go in all directions and could be thrown on the roof. Luckily there are no fake 24dbi grid antennas on the market... at least that I am aware of. What he meant is probably that this type of antenna is calculated, stamped out in 1000s of samples and for example every 1000th sample is tested. "Good" antenas have higher manufacturing standards, therefore they are considered more HQ. You can also see in assembly pictures that there are no "accurate position holders", so parabola shape varies from assembly to assembly... But at least in my experience, this specfic antenna does its job! 9x HD5970
