Hey everyone,
Posting some fun things many people probably simply didn't know about. Simple fun knowledge that we can all use to mess with our friends or relatives and that most of us may not have learned in the classroom.
We're on the internet messing around anyway, why not learn something in 30 seconds right?
Enjoy!
So basically why this works is because the alka seltzer creates CO2. The CO2 that forms is denser (heavier) than the oxygen in the air so it remains in the container. When the container is "poured over" the fire, the CO2 "pours" out like water would and falls downward - again, because it's denser than the air around it. As it result, it suffocates the flame (pushes the air away from the flame which the flame needs to survive) and puts it out.
This is a cool/fun trick to do at the holidays or with your drunk friends if you drink.
