Is exploiting a vulnerability illegal?

Out of curiosity, is it illegal to exploit a vulnerability or it's the business's fault for not securing it properly?

Are you really asking this question or are you looking for our 'approval'? :')

No why would I need anyone's approval lol, just curious if anything can happen legally for doing such thing.

i'll put it like this. your home security has a flaw, is it illegal to go in and rob? or is it the owners fault for not securing it properly?
Of course, you're accessing something that's not yours without authorization
Not sure if you are joking or not lul
What about just sending a request which you would have sent anyway under different circumstances?

I can do absolutely nothing with that.
Country? State? Age? What vulnerability?

Questions, sire, QUESTIONS!
Without permission from the owner of the thing you are exploiting it is indeed illigal. It's as simple as that.

With permission you can do alot more though.

Well supposedly you make a simple site where you get +1 points after clicking a button but you decide to send the same request programmatically and infinitely

Shouldn't there be some legal precautions like ToS or something for it to be considered illegal though?

Everything is legal. unless you get caught 🤝
Thats my philosophy.

There is most of the time, and even if there isn't there is still the law for that.

In simple terms, it's illigal to break into something that is not yours.

Hm alright that should be enough to know, cheers.

Depends what it is, and if you have permission etc from the Owner.
