You get a last meal whatever you want, literally WHATEVER you want and if the execution doesn't mess up the death is quick and fast.

I can't imagine myself in a position like that but you must also consider the people who (rarely but honestly are) falsely accused waiting for some sort of hope. Also, every bit of connection w/ you friends, family, all the stress and success life brought, everything all to end. Not too pleasant.

Depending on the prison, I'd still prefer to stay alive. Life is the most valuable thing in this world and unless the situation hasn't become completely unbearable, I'd want to hold on.

I would always hold onto some sort of hope, maybe the next president will change laws, maybe there's an incident and you get out? Maybe a zombie apocalypse happens and you get to live outside.

Who knows.

But really, you are talking about the day they get the death penalty compared to life in prison. You can still make friends in prison, and you can still enjoy your time there.

Like others said I think anybody know matter who they are or what they've done would be at-least a little bit sad knowing the exact day and way they're going to die.
