Dynamic content images allowed?

For example gifs that send frames based on server output, or png's that are modified realtime by the server (update on refresh)
I am very sure they are allowed, I have seen many users have signatures that change on refresh. If that is what you are talking about.

Thanks for the meme tho

No. You were impatient making a thread so you tried to refresh it. I have done this many times and it never happens if you just let it load :)

I pressed the submit button 3 times as nothing happened (no loading bar) so I guess it was that 🤝

Sure was :) Try be patient in the future as it avoids these. I was l33t for so long it's annoying not being able to junk the doubles.
I believe it's fine as long as you aren't uploading any php code to your signature. We used to get in trouble for having dynamic avatars for that reason.

ah, well dynamic pngs and gifs work with php in them :(

Then just use ASP or something else. :)
This is not allowed. It doesn't matter how the image changes; it's not allowed.

My rep fuck 5 years ago.

The only way you could do it is have a cron job update the signature after some time. You just can't have it update every time.

If the image is hosted on your own website and you update the image there - it will update on HF unless other users have the old image cached.
For example chick3nman - he updates his image on his site when he has different things running.

(well he use to)

Yea, that is basically what a cron job can do.

From my understanding, the rule applies to server generated content.

Are we allowed dynamic sigs such as counters or image rotators?
No. You're not allowed to use dynamic sigs on HF. They can be abused and normally slow the loading of pages. So we ask that you do not use dynamic images in your sig. This rule also applies to avatars.

We recommend you take the time to read the HF Help Documents section. The answer to your questions should be contained in there.
