My Hero Academia has a new key visual!
There is a new English trailer for the previously released Japanese trailer for the new Blame! Movie. The movie is another expansion of the Netflix anime library, coming on May 20th. It is not a sequel to the 2003 Blame! series, but an alternative version.
2017 is definitely the year for the Fate series, with Fate/Apocrypha being the main focus now after the hype behind Grand/Order and Heaven's Feel earlier. Along with the hype, we have received a new key visual!
A new Hell Girl anime is set to release in July, according to retailers - the best guess right now is that it is Season 4 of the popular anime.
With the success of Kimi no Na wa, everyone thought that Makoto Shinkai would be able to take over the spotlight from Miyazaki - the previous king of anime and founder of Studio Ghibli, the studio behind the extremely popular anime, Spirited Away. Miyazaki announced his retirement in 2012 and the world thought it would never see a full feature from him again - until it came to light that he had 'retired' six times previously and continues to do so. Miyazaki is officially out of retirement and working on what is most likely a new feature film - hopefully one that can rival the success of Your Name.
Many of us are excited for the live action adaption of Ghost in the Shell; but many newcomers to the series have come as a result of the movie's release, and also the controversy behind the Hollywood whitewashing. Well, for all those who are curious, the anime news network has created a 'cheat sheet' for anyone who would like to learn a whole load about the series before the movie comes out so they can brag to their friends!

All of the DLC content for Resident Evil 7 are out now for anyone to purchase on PC and Xbox One.
Square Enix (creators of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest) have announced a new RPG “Project Prelude Rune” from their new studio, Istolia.
The latest Final Fantasy XV patch is out now and it contains new features and also some season pass DLC.
It may not game Japanese origins, but because of cute characters like D.VA in a very anime-esque (cartoonish) art style, the team-based shooter Overwatch has become a fan-favourite among us weebs. Sombra hasn’t been out for too long but they are already teasing a new character. The tease comes in the form of a news report from inside the Overwatch universe about a smart new scientist – hopefully, we can see her in the game soon!
Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony will launch on September 26 in North America and September 29 in Europe.
A small fan studio has been working on a Pokemon Visual Novel for a while, and it is currently in demo phase and it is looking very good! The VN called Pokemon: Academy life is available to download on their site called Pokemon Academy Life

Overlord Review
What is it about Overlord that attracts fans? Is it the overwhelming strength the main character Ainz Ooal Gown uses to obtain his goals? Is it the amazingly well drawn out characters who play a pivotal role in this story? Or perhaps it's the ever-expanding world and its well-crafted lore.
Truth is, it's all of these things that attract us Overlord fans.
In order to score the Overlord series, we first have to tear it apart and take a look at its individual pieces.
Synopsis
First, we'll look at the main character himself, Ainz Ooal Gown.
Ainz Ooal Gown is a super-powered undead skeleton, typically referred to as an Overlord, an off-class of the Elder Lich. His power originated from a video game he used to play daily called YGGDRASIL, in which he was a part of a Guild known by most as The Great Tomb of Nazarick. The story kicks off in-game during the final day of YGGDRASIL being online. The main character Ainz is speaking with a dear Guild member and friend about past experiences and how the real world is treating him.
Shortly after, as he waits in the throne room for the servers to go offline, nothing happens. He notices that all the NPC characters around him seem almost lifelike and aware of their surroundings.
Because of this, he panics, the world he thought was shutting offline was now open to expansion. He had somehow been transported to a new world with all of his original powers and his entire Guild. Things progress from there and that's how our story kicks off. You can take in this series through anime, manga, and even light novel.
Personal Opinion
While Overlord has it's flawed its definitely one of the strongest stories I've read. It knows what it is and doesn't try to pretend to be something different. It's almost brave to write the main character off as the villain, but they did it. Ainz is an antihero with no interest in human life. It's all about his Guild and himself, nothing else matters. He crushes anyone who gets in his way, in the way a true Demonic King would. Stories like Overlord provide such a well-crafted character development, where each plot point benefits one character or another. Everything has a purpose and isn't stuffed with any sort of filler content.

Final Review
The Story definitely has its problems and some plotlines aren't really expanded upon. This doesn't stop Overlord from being one of the most intricate and well-crafted stories I've read. It expands over 10 volumes and nowhere does it get boring. The story is so beautifully crafted that I've personally gone back over it and re-read several volumes over again. After each Chapter, it leaves you wanting more, you're left with the feeling of 'what next?!' all the while zooming past page after page of content. It reads well and has pretty much no grammatical errors throughout it.
The Characters are also a strong point in the series. From the small alchemist boy to the Overlord of Death himself, all of them have a story. Everything intertwines together leaving almost no room for confusion. It'll definitely leave you wanting to know more about these people, all the while stretching the ever-impressive universe of Overlord to the point of extreme. Not only is it well thought out, but there's just so much information we've yet to uncover that's just waiting behind the hill. This is a story that I can imagine would overtake volume after volume of information. The world feels alive and the conflicts between the ever-changing nations feel natural and almost breathing. Each city has a story and purpose, all the while taking full advantage of their creator's culture.
The Conflict is one of those things in Overlord that feels almost too hollow, but once you get down into the dirt with it, you realize just how intricate and well written it really is. Hinting at it from even as far back as volume one, the main players take the field. Wars are fought and won, battles are waged, and skirmishes are held. All the while a master manipulator takes advantage of everyone’s basic wills. Is this manipulator Ainz or someone else? Who's the final boss? To what end will Ainz continue with his plan for what can only be described as 'world conquest'? That's where this story shines brightest. All of these questions float around the reader’s head, all the while Ainz takes advantage of these concerns and ultimately breaks even the reader's sense of morality. It's well written, well established, and well produced.
Overall it's a well-written story with many high points and only a select few low points. There are no real filler chapters, and even with us riding along with Ainz, we still can't actively predict the outcome. However, since Ainz has already shown to us that everything goes his way, it almost ruins it for the reader at times. Situations where clearly you expect Ainz to pull through simply because he's lucky start to get repetitive and predictable. That doesn't mean it's a story lacking excitement, after all, it's somewhat fun to see everything work out perfectly, even to the amazement of the main character.
My final verdict is that Overlord is a well-crafted, highly rated final boss emulator. You're transported to another world, you use your powers and resources to your own advantage, and you seek out what can only be described as world conquest. It feels like the origin story behind the typical shounen story where the hero must hunt down the demon king, but written from the demon's perspective.

Cloud+ is still on a break (hopefully he will come back eventually), so I am determined to keep this section alive. For all those who read last week’s issue, you will know that my spin on this section is actually ‘Cute Lolis for Love’ and will feature the cutest girls in anime this season. Last week it was the adorable Kanna, and I am so glad that it made people want to watch Dragon Maid. This week, you are in for a real treat with our cute Loli.
This time it is Hikari-chan from Demi-chan wa Kataritai (Interviews With Monster Girls)! She is a cute vampire who is just so misunderstood. She is so straightforward with herself that people think there must be more than meets the eye with her when there really isn’t. She says what she means and means what she says…. Don’t believe me when I say she is among the cutest this season? Watch this video!
