Hello,
I was wondering how can I edit the contents on websites like CNN and New York Times so that it can only be viewed on my own IP Address
Thank you Much Help Appreciated
So you want to edit the source code permanently but the modification should only be viewable on your IP address ? If so, I don't think it's possible on your WAN IP address. There are multiple ways : making a browser addon that edit part of the website (locally), or copying the whole article, hosting it on localhost, and redirecting 127.0.0.1/article02.php to cnn.com/article02.php in the hosts file
thus, when you go at cnn.net/article02.php, it will load the edited article stored at 127.0.0.1/article02.php
got it ?

hello I am a complete newbie can you explain it more detaily
Thank you
lol I think what you're looking for is inspect element.
MITM attack? Im not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure a Man in the middle attack is the way to go for you to do this. Search around HF to find a more detailed explanation of this

yeah but the thing is inspect element goes away after you refresh and cannot be seen on different devices
You can use Firefox add-ons or Chrome extensions (just a bunch of HTMl+JS files) to achieve it. (can be used across multiple websites as well)
stackoverflow.com/questions/14068879/modify-html-of-loaded-pages-using-chrome-extensions
You can also modify the headers using the add-ons and extensions if needed for either a single request or all requests.
