Out of curiosity, how long does it take to process an application and do I stand a chance at getting in?

There's no definite answer as to how long it takes to process an application, so I have no answer for you there.

I will say that this recruitment thread will stay open for weeks/ months to come, as we find new users who show initiative for their courses. Some members may be added, but if they don't partake in the courses they applied for they'll be removed and someone else may take their spot in class.

Of course, if you take part in your courses you won't have to fear being randomly removed, so don't panic about that.

As to the requirements for applying? There's no specific minimum, but from what I can tell it's based mostly on the application itself than on any account statistics. You can have 4,000 reputation, but if you don't put anything into the application your spot will be passed along to someone else who actually shows an interest in the course, regardless of their reputation or stats.

We're creating courses for users to learn through, not trying to gather the highest rated profiles. Hope that answered your question.

Thank you Nevieth for the answer! I'm just hoping that I can get started on something sooner rather than later. My ADT class is moving very slow and i'm probably three or four weeks ahead, so worst comes to worst I could hopefully teach some programming to others in the group if i'm accepted.

Why would you be a good fit for Dawn?
I've helped out quite a few members in the past years in the WHH section and really know the feeling of helping others on here. I think it's time for me to really get into different fields and explore other topics and enjoy what Dawn has to offer today

What knowledge do you currently possess in the subjects of the courses listed?
Not the slightest clue on video editing nor coding. I am willing to learn and ready to dive down and explore different topics that you guys have to offer in Dawn. I just really need someone to guide me through it, and this is why I am applying today for the student program

Are there any fields of knowledge where you personally excel?
Yes just general computing topics, malware removal and computer security. This is all I know, it's so little so bare with me.

Which courses are you interested in? (answering with "all" is okay)
Coding. I've always and I mean always wanted to get into it. However, I was always to busy with malware removal and computer security. As of right now, I am willing to learn anything about coding. I really just need a good teacher. I tried learning it myself and it didn't go to well. I always failed at it. I am somewhat interested in the video editing and the Russian language but I suppose those can come after acquiring some knowledge in coding if I get accepted.

Will you actively participate in your enrolled courses?
Yes, I am here to learn and to learn I must participate whether it'd be a group or alone. My activity is a must.

Do you understand that failure to participate in your enrolled courses is grounds for immediate removal from the group?
I understand fully.
