Hey, I was wondering if anyone had experience turning an android phone into a proxy. My buddy is starting a residential proxy service so I'm asking this for him. If you know how to do it and so that the Ip doesn't change, please let me know.

You having a static or dynamic IP doesn't matter on the devices you are using but the ISP.
I bet there is software like this in the app store and would recommend you to search it, if there isn't root your phone, install Python and take some proxy implementation from Github or somewhere similar. The phone would run off 3G/4G data, so it is a dynamic IP and I would need something like NoIP to circumvent this issue. There is an app called like Proxy Server, but I think I need to make an OpenVPN (that does not forward the IP, then make clients be able to connect to each other) and then setup the proxy server so that since they are on the same private network I can connect without the need of portforwarding. I'm not sure entirely his this would work, so that's where I need someone's help. The proxy server app does have NoIP functionality https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...rver&hl=en (Mar 20, 2017 11:44 AM)Hoodie+ Wrote: You are going to have a problem doing that if you're doing it on residential WIFIs or public WIFIs, you are not going to be able to port forward. Keep in mind that it is 3G/4G data. (Mar 23, 2017 04:45 PM)James Burnham Wrote: Bump. Certainly there is a way, but I am afraid it involves linux. Alright, thanks, if anyone else has any other ideas, let me know.
