Are you suggesting the ability of one user to donate in another's name, or funds that can actually be used by the recipient?

Not about donations at all.. It is about funds that can be used within HF ( and that was just an example ) My main point of this thread is to simply ask for more gift options to members. Currently the only way to gift members is through awards. I'm asking for more options than that

It would make things easier when a user asks for proof of funds too. Interesting idea, however it could easily make accounts targets. You better keep your account secure if you're going to publicly display how much money you have.

If I was a wallet provider I run the risk of FINCEN rule and new government policy changes.

I was a wallet provider I'd worry constantly about attacks into the systems to steal BTC. That's an immense risk. I'm also not a BTC pro. I haven't even run a bitcoind process yet. I'd be an amatuer. As someone only slightly familiar with the process I'm fairly sure the amount of problems I would have would be extensive.

I'm an expert webmaster. That's what I'm good at. That's what I will stick with.

Which do you think makes your account attractive to hacker? Having what you currently have or a $15 balance in your HF ?

A hacker hacking your account could make hundreds and hundreds more.. Maybe even thousands if properly used for scamming.. so how does a simple balance of $15 in your account make your account suddenly more "worthy" ? I don't understand that at all !

The same apply to you Tony.. You have all those awards and over 1k rep, how does a balance of $10-$15 make your account suddenly important?

Also, if thats sucha big issue, you can even limit the maximum amount of balance each account has to $20 and to be only for certain group (UB3R maybe?), this way the account itself would be much more worthy more than the balance in it...

Now with all those clarified, let me emphasize it one more time. This is not a "Wallet suggestion". It is simply a suggestion to add more gift options, thats it. I don't know what kind of gift options Omni could bring to the site, maybe he can bring up with much better idea than mine. I just gave an example, maybe it was a bad one, I don't know. The point of this thread is to simply make more options for members to gift each others because right now the only way to gift each other is through Awards, so adding more gift options than just gifting Awards would be nice.

I think I get the idea of secret gifting, but I think the cons and hassles of trying to implement this system just for gifting is somewhat out-weighing the positives of what it can bring.

The time for development, testing, implementation may take a while (I don't know), when you could simply ask the person.
Also, the time which would be needed to implement this, could be time used to work on the api for HF or other projects that Omni has.

TLDR: Good Idea, just the cons of time constraint out-weigh the positives.

This suggestion is a mess and not well thought out.

OP is asking for more gift options, but can't specify any examples besides users having a BTC balance on their account.
