Currently, you need at least 25 characters to submit a response. However, if you quote a user, it bypasses this requirement.

A few users are being banned for three days because of this. Granted, they should educate themselves on the rules, but it would save them the inconvenience and the staff a ban hammer whack.

I thought it was pretty well known that the character requirement was 25. Even still it does seem a bit odd that the site functions like this. Never noticed it because I have always used the Quick Reply feature.

This has been around for years, even back with the 35 character minimum. Yet it's just now being brought back up? ❓

I was about to suggest this earlier, however, it is not as easy to implant as you think.
I know that the 'Clover Award(s)' was supposed to ignore quotes, but since it was not possible to implant (?) Omni just went with it.

You're right it's not meant to be that way, Omniscient is aware. The plugin broke after the server move a while back I believe. I am sure it's on the agenda to fix, possibly when we upgrade to 1.8.

For now just report posts and they will be dealt with. It's been a 25 character limit for a while and it's even stated in the Help Docs. Funnily enough it's members who have been here for a while who get busted the most for this.
