The whole point of Mr Reviewer reviewing paid eBooks is so people don't waste their money and basically buy an eBook that doesn't work or holds little to no value. He's not going to do a free eBook because people don't have to worry about wasting their money on it. Nonetheless, I do free eBooks sometimes. My point is he should at least test the methods before he does a review a reviewer group on hf wouldn't be a bad idea really if the right person was doing them.

The secret intention of "Mr Reviewer" is to get free items. Prove it to me if I'm wrong.
Hackforums is a greedy community and it's something that you learn over time. And everyone wants to be the person who has access to tons of ebooks for free, while in return posting a vouch. There is a reason why reviewers have never existed. It's simply because jealousy is way too strong. Everyone wants to see things that are hidden, and no person should ever be able to view all of the content at once.

That most certainly didn't sound like the point you were making initially. It sounded like you think he's just trying to get free eBooks and were salty because he didn't want to review your free eBook. Nonetheless, I'd like to see where he said he doesn't actually test the methods. Additionally, some things actually don't need testing. For example, an investment eBook which uses an online platform may not need to be tested fully due to its nature of the eBook. Since when was it guilty until proven innocent? I personally don't 100% know what his intentions are but you're acting like no one can be sincerely trying to clean up the marketplace. Of course getting free eBooks may be a perk of the job, but if you can see further past that you'll actually see he's had a positive impact on the marketplace. I asked him to review it because I thought he was doing a decent service until I actually spoke with him.

The only way it would work in the marketplace is if Hackforums forced users ebook to get approved, which has been debated in the past and would never be changed. Bad ebook sellers will never give their ebook to "Mr Reviewer" because they don't want an honest review. And unfortunately it is not practical to buy every ebook in the marketplace at this point in time. I updated my original post with more information so please be sure to read that because I explain more on what I mean. Has he made an impact?.. Maybe. Honestly, he's just impacted the marketplace by having an excuse to ask for vouch copies on a mass scale. |
