Computer crashes on login and all USBs often disconnect

About a week ago I noticed that my internet (only on my PC) keeps dropping and then shortly after that Windows explorer crashes and all my USBs that I have connected to my computer tower disconnect and then re-connect about 10 seconds later.

Recently upon logging in my Windows completely crashes for around 3 minutes and then it's fine to continue to use.

I've ran MBAM and Windows Defender but nothing's shown up.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
  • Right click to run as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.

  • Press Scan button.

  • It will produce logs called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.

  • Please copy and paste the logs back here.

Thanks Bromo.

You have an unstable computer, much of it is not related to malware, but I can help anyways.

1. Please uninstall the following using control panel:

Ace Stream Media 3.1.11
Smart Defrag 5

2. Download fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop.

NOTE: It's important that both files, FRST/FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system

Run FRST/FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post it to your reply.

3. Is it you who also created a thread on bleepingcomputer? You must pick 1 forum only because we cant have two experts working on the same machine, it will get too confusing for us.
Well at least it's not Malware.

Yeah, that was me. I'll close that.

Yeah, that was me. I'll close that.

Some of it was malware, but that is now gone,

Now we need to look at fixing some stuff, follow these guides for fixing 2 errors you have:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...s.10).aspx

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...s.10).aspx
Ooh, not so good.

Nonetheless, I've followed both guides and they've worked as expected.

Appreciate your ongoing help.
Alright, now please do the following:

Re-Scan with FRST
  • Double-Click FRST.exe or FRST64.exe to run the program.

  • Click Yes to the disclaimer.

  • Ensure the Addition.txt box is checked.

  • Click the Scan button and let the program run.

  • Upon completion, click OK, then OK on the Addition.txt pop up screen.

  • Two logs (FRST.txt & Addition.txt) will now be open on your Desktop. Copy the contents of both logs and paste them to pastebin.com. Post the link here.

Run the .net repair tool from here and report back here what it says:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download...x?id=30135

After that, open cmd as administrator, and execute this command:

Code
sfc /scannow

After that post the results here.
These were the recommended changes:

• Reregister Windows Installer service
Unregisters and re-registers the Windows Installer service using MsiExec.exe. Applicable regardless of the diagnosis results.

• Restart Windows Installer service
Stops and restarts the Windows Installer service. Applicable regardless of the diagnosis results.

It applied both changes then finished.

sfc /scannow returned this message: Window Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations
Alright, does your internet still drop and does windows explorer still crash? Let me know if they do.
I've not had any problems since we've carried out any of the previous steps, no. Am I all good?

No USB disconnections yet either.
Your computer is clean, there is no malware left.

The only thing now to monitor is event logs, I think your computer is stable enough now but we need to make sure there is no errors about windows.
Great stuff. Thanks! I'll monitor over the next day. Should I post new logs tomorrow.

Been v helpful.
