L33T + API = AWESOME

This is what I get after making a call to https://hackforums.net/api/v1/category/7:

But https://hackforums.net/api/v1/user and https://hackforums.net/api/v1/inbox both work (return the JSON output) without issue.

It seems to work perfectly for me, can you try again? Maybe it was a temporary issue
Ahh.. this is pretty interesting I have to admit. Hell, I might even have to upgrade to l33t now :/

Exactly the same result. This behaviour only happens on Android and only on some endpoints, on my laptop and PC every endpoint works flawlessly.

I can't seem to replicate the bug myself on Android or Windows, on any endpoint

Weird, for me it always happens on the /category and /forum endpoints (on Android using OkHttp).

Take a look at the requests here: https://pastebin.com/raw/Ka1jbh9a

CloudFlare or you're making requests too quickly. 🤫

Ok, finally I've got my issue. I was making requests too fast. Is there an official time limit between calls we must adhere to? I thought it was just the hourly limit but I think I was wrong about that.

Omni has posted not to make more than like 1 a second or something, but I think if you do like 3 requests in 4 seconds, it will 503.

It's a security thing so people can't flood it with requests.

I'm going to be adding an advanced query metering system to my app so that I don't 503.

It should respond with 429.
I'm glad it's been opened up. I developed and released a free PM notification program and will continue to make more useful applications.

Good update chief
And good job mesh

Im probably going to be actively updating it 🤝

That would happen if the request made it to the API/Website and they returned it. The 503 is presented by the site protection rules and immediately rejects anything if you spam requests. If they wanted to do things "right" and by the book, we would return 429, but it's not required.

I might just do something similar. Should be fairly easy to achieve with an OkHttp interceptor. I guess this means you don't have to use the webview 'trick' to get around CF issues anymore :)
I am glad leets can use this feature now. That is very nice of you.
