Hey guys, something happened recently that I found interesting. Someone on a private messaging website obtained my IP Address by private messaging with me, and gave it. It doesn't bother me since I do use a VPN, but it got me thinking. How did this person obtain my IP Address? Any thoughts?
The website functions upon Adobe Flash Player. It hasn't got SSL encryption, it's HTTP. The user is a standard user on the site, not an admin or someone with privelages. All private messages are stored as flash cookies locally for everyone of course. Can anyone think of any methods they might have used? Thanks!
EDIT: They never gave me any kind of link to click on. Also, no images were sent between us. Text only.
