Computer running slow? no reason to

Hi guys so i just got a new computer and i notice its slow and freezes. windows 10 home (bloatware removed). Here are my specs.

CPU Type
AMD A6-5400K APU 3.6ghz with Radeon™ HD Graphics

Ram 8gb

Graphics Chipset
AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series

I bought a solid state drive for my OS it arrives tomorrow im thinking maybe thats my issue? What do you all think? need more info?
I should also mention Im using a vga monitor and my graphics hard only had hdmi so im using a hdmi to vga converter. I honestly dont know if this would effect it but I thought Id mention it I think  I have a bad and or slowing failing hard drive.

You have a rather old PC.....

An SSD will make it more responsive but that APU isn’t really doing you any favours.

Do you use it just for general browsing or??
tbh i play runescape and league of legends. I was told I should upgrade the processor.

Yeah would definitely help a lot....

I’m assuming it’s a prebuilt PC?

You won’t be able to just drop in a new CPU, as the APU you have has the graphics built-in and the motherboard is very old, dead socket old...  you would need a new motherboard, ram and a graphics card to upgrade the CPU along with a better powersupply more than likely...

So really you are better off saving for a new build in my opinion.
