I am thinking about setting up a web store/eCommerce website.
We are thinking about having it setup on wordpress via woocommerce but doing it this way would require an SSL certificate. What type of certificate would you recommend & where would the cheapest place to get it would be?
Alternatively we could use something else to host the site. What would you recommend this way?
Cheers,
Anima
Just use FreeSSL or cloudflare.
Just use Cloudflare, why pay for a cert? Plus you get other free benefits with Cloudflare.

I can guarantee you don’t need the business plan.
Small eCommerce store with a $200 reoccurring expense... yea, ok.

As a charity they offer something different (I don't think i can go into detail about it)
You should also use Let's Encryt to secure the connection between Cloudflare and your server. If only that site will run on the VPS/dedi (I assume you won't be using an oversold shared hosting) you might also want to check out mod_cloudflare.
You see, Doctor, God didn't kill that little girl. Fate didn't butcher her and destiny didn't feed her to those dogs.
If God saw what any of us did that night he didn't seem to mind. From then on I knew... God doesn't make the world this way.
We do.

But you don't need it. Their Free plan will work fine for a small eCommerce store.

There are also multiple hosting companies, which do provide a FREE SSL Certificate, when you order the hosting.

Just get the free package on cloudflare.

I am using RivalHost, which gives a free SSL Certificate for a year for FREE.
Hosting is safe, using it for 5 years without any issues.
