So I've been seeing a couple of users selling e-books on this topic so I decided to give me two cents for free.
There will be two topics that I will be talking about. Number 1 is confidence with girls and number 2 is confidence going into a job interview. This post will be a little long so thank you for reading.
Topic One: Confidence with girls/women.
Step 1: Ruling yourself out.
Ask youself, do you have the confidence to talk to a cute or sexy girl thats in your school, work or even whe you are out in places like the movies or getting coffee.
If you say yes that's perfect and if you say no all the more reason to keep reading.
Step 2: Your are great!
If you are unable to even say a word to girl look at yourself in the mirror. Talk to yourself, may sound stupid but I promise it works. What do you say to yourself? Well this all depends on what your goals are. If you aren't confident with the way you look just tell yourself there are way uglier people the me who get chicks. Practice like are are talking to that cute girl, when you see yourself actually talking it builds confidence as it will decrease the anxiety of "Am I doing this wrong", "Am I making a stupid face" "Am I smiling enough" "Am I smiling too much". These are stupid things to think about and will just contribute to messing up the conversation.
Step 3: Starting the conversation.
This is usually the hardest part. But honestly just say hi! One
of the main reasons you dont talk to chicks is because you are waiting for them to show an interest or you think they dont want to talk to you. This is a reasonable but unture thought and you wont get social with anyone if you dont even say hi. Most people think this is the hardest thing ever, you aren't alone but practice makes perfect. If you find yourself unable to think of what to say just start with small stuff such as "have a good day" or "beautiful weather out" or if you are from Canada like me, say something like "there's so much snow." Even if you don't have anything else to say starting with this you will soon find it easier to talk to people and even hot ass sexy chicks!
Step 4: Don't put yourself down
Be positive! Never be down about yourself, it is one of the worst things you can do. If you constantly think you're not good enough, not attractive looking, not deserving then it will just create more anxiety that will build the wall taller that you need to get over. You need to create confidence not deplete it.
Step 5: Go get em!
Get yourself out there, if you are lonely sitting on your computer on HackForums or what ever website you visit turn off the computer and go for a coffee or just a walk. Meet new people and talking to strangers builds up confidence no matter what way you look at it. It will also give you more experience and that is the best thing to do. Practice makes perfect.
Topic Two: Confidence in the interview.
Step 1: You will own this job!
One of the worst mistakes you can make going into an interview is thinking your not good enough to get the job. The interviewer is looking for confident people who think they deserve the job. If he/she gets two people with the same degree, same work experience, same age, which person will he/she want on the workforce? The person who is quite, timid and full of anxiety or the person full of confidence, who believes they can change the company, create more profit and will speak their opinions and ideas.
Step 2: Make sure you are going for a job that you are interested in.
For gathering job experience this isn't necessary but it is if you are trying to create a career. Getting a job you'll enjoy is the difference of excitement when waking up to go to work and dragging your ass through a 9-5 shift. Do what you love and the money will come.
Step 3: Create warm contacts.
A warm contact is a person who directly refers the interview about you. A great way to do this is to go to a competing company or at least one in the same industry of the one you're interested in ask request some time to talk to a executive about what they are looking for in an employee. You'll be surprised at how open managers/interviewers are when you aren't actually looking to get a job with them. The point of this is to ask the person at the end if they can refer you to anyone else who would be willing to talk to you. When you go to this new person you can state "I was talking to Steve Smith about the industry and he referred me to you". This creates a warm contact as the person will know who referred you to them rather than a friend of a friend or just a random stranger.
Step 4: Where you want to be in 5 or 10 years.
This is the most important question the interviewer asks in the interview because it reveals the interviewee's ambitions and goals. Having an ambitious personality will take you far in life. If you are going to be going to school then state so but also state what you will do with you degree. If you are going for a career then state you want to be higher up in the chain and improving the company's revenue. If it for a part time job then state I will be in a full time job in 2* years. Make sure the interviewer knows you have goals.
Step 5: Don't take no as an answer.
This isn't about snapping back at the company when they don't give you a call back. It is about never giving up, always pursue a new job even if you have one already. Unless you are contacted you can always get a better job. Never take failures as a sign you should give up. Maybe you just didn't fit in in that company's workforce.
I wish you the best in your endeavours.
Hope this helps!
