Monitor doesnt show full screen?

Just purchased a PC that was used for dual monitor. I’m only using one monitor and I can’t seem to get full screen on it. It’s a 1050Ti and I tried uninstalling + reinstalling the graphics card through the official websites and still no luck. Tried editing display settings too. What other options do I have ?
Full screen on what just the desktop or games?

Haven’t tried any games yet but the desktop

If you are on windows 10 try to right click the desktop and click display settings and change the resolution to 1920 x 1080

If the problem is that one of them is fullscreen and the other is not try to make the one that's now the primary monitor and try the resolution again.

Did that. Didn’t work unfortunately.

Also, I don’t have a dual. He did so I’m wondering if that can be an issue

I should prob mention it isn’t a monitor, but a TV which could be the issue. Tried nvidia settings to rescale and that didn’t work either

Every TV I've used with a computer has that problem. You'll have to use overscan or underscan settings. In Windows, it'll be somewhere in you gpus control software.

It’s set on underscan. Also tried resizing but arrows don’t seem to fit even at minimum
Are you sure you did set it up to "show only display X" in settings?

Where would that be?

It can be a combination of things from overscan to the menu settings on the TV. Can't possibly help you blindly over these forums. But I'd suggest googling the TV model plus "black bars" or "doesn't fit." Your not the first to use that TV with a computer...

Couldn’t find anything. It’s a D24-D1 vizio and has no results with that keyword

Maybe it's not the TV if you're the only person having issues with it. They all managed. 🤣 All joking aside, I know your frustration. I too use a TV for a monitor and it can be a real pain in the ass. Especially for Linux; xrandr. But Windows, I use an "HDMI scaling option" for an AMD GPU.

All I can is try messing with the scaling in the menu of the TV, and then the option your GPU provides, to find a balance. Good luck.
