Okay so I have a site hosted on an offshore and they're being ridiculously difficult to work with so I have to go outside of them. My site which is a wordpress site keeps crashing and the offshore site is saying it's a Nginx optimization issue but I don't have any detailed reason on the issue.

Do you have access to any logs at all? "WordPress crashing" sounds like it is much more likely to be PHP actually crashing, and not nginx itself. It's not just the wordpress crashing. Everything shuts down. I have access now and can look at logs. Tell me what I should look for in whm/cpanel? (Feb 12, 2018 12:19 PM)Rorschach. Error logs is what you're looking for, they should be timestamped too. Check around the time "everything shut down" and see if there's anything obvious around that time. If your host can't help you with basics like this, or even tell you why it's happening then that is a good sign you need to move on. (Feb 12, 2018 12:19 PM)Rorschach. So it's NOT a Nginx issue? (Feb 12, 2018 02:51 PM)Rorschach. Wrote: So it's NOT a Nginx issue? Certainly doesn't look like it from those error messages. Find a new hosting company who know what they're actually doing. 😖

I've seen "NGINX" appear on screen in the past few years when it HAS been a NGINX issue. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't APACHE and NGINX closely related? Still need help with this Now this dumbass host is saying we have to get Nginx license
Sounds like your host is stupid, unless it's a VPS. In which case, I would agree it's your issue.
Time for you to grab all your files and move to a different host. |
