Hi there,

I am a highly experienced PC user/fairly experienced Linux user and especially on the hardware side of things.

I want to start hacking.

Today I tried to use a number of cracking tools on Kali Linux such as instagram.py, but the flaw in these tools is that it relies on the user to input what the password might be. Brute force attacks aren't what I'm after.

Does anyone know where I should go to crack a password (this isn't on anyone else, its on a few dummy accounts i have created and deliberately forgotten the password).

I am open to all suggestions and am willing to learn.

Dictionary attacks rely on what the password might be.
Brute force systematically tries every possible combination of characters.

A brute force attack will eventually get that password, the question is how long will it take.
as long as the password isn't long, a brute force attack will get it.
Otherwise you're shit out of luck and your best options are in the following order

1. social engineer access to the account
   


2. get a piece of malware like a keylogger, a RAT or a password stealer onto the computer/mobile device so you can steal the password.
   


3. somehow find a zero day that will let you gain access to the account. (good luck with that one)
