I don't have any active forum subscription, yet I keep receiving emails for new threads created in CE section.
I tried to subscribe and unsubscribe.

Forum subscription in usercp shows no forum subscribed.

I noticed the same thing a while ago... At some point all my subscriptions were randomly removed, and now I get updates for them yet they aren't even in my list.

Omni Reset all Forum and Thread Subscriptions last week.

I believe this is what’s happening for I’m still getting email notifications
From old subscriptions.

I’ll subscribe to this thread and see how long it takes to get a notification.
I have cleared all subscriptions in user control panel except this thread.

However I have found the alert system works well for notifications for me.
