Won't have access to HF while I'm at basic anyway which is the 3 months minimum. Not to mention I've heard from people already in the forces (who have been to places like Iraq/Afghanistan/East Timor) that it's one of the toughest jobs mentally. I don't use HF for anything productive anymore, only for killing time and enjoyment of which I have very little. Besides, I never said I was leaving permanently otherwise I would just ask for an account closure. Eventually I would like to come back but I want to be 100% settled in at my new job before I do and even if I do it would be purely to lurk.

Sounds like you have the right mind-set my dude. You got this shit. But yea HF would be a nice little escape from the stress in my opinion. But i'll hopefully be here when you're back! Id love to hear about it all.

You're right. I'll go straight into employment training for the next 6 months. Considering I am doing a job which can result in major loss of life if I fuck up, I want to put 100% into it with no distractions.
