So I've been enjoying the contracts feature but I've encountered one major issue from the new system.
As you can see here, here, and here, I've started contracts with members, they've paid for my product(s), I mark it as complete and leave b-rating but the other user doesn't do the same thing. Even if he didn't want to leave a b-rating, leaving the contract as uncomplete makes me look bad as a seller.
So I've been thinking on this, okay so how can we make sure that these contracts get completed if the deal itself was completed?
One idea would be to have reminder PMs from Help Bot every X amount of time, say a week has passed since we've agreed to the contract and I've marked it as complete, the help bot would send the other member a PM reminding them that the contract has yet to be marked as complete.
NOW THE MORE COMPLEX SUGGESTION:
Well after thinking on it, it brought me to this idea. Contract Durations.
It's a simple addition to the start contract page which asks the user to select if this is a short term contract, or a long term one.
Is the contract something that should genuinely be completed within 24 hours? Say buying a HF product, payment and delivery should be done quick right?
Or is it a long term contract ,which yes is likely going to happen much less often, but if this idea was implemented, we'd need the long term option as well. I'm in the middle of one right now where the deal wont complete until 6 months from October.
Okay now another idea to add onto this, what if we could add on additional conditions to the contract after accepting it? Maybe have this only on long term contracts (if that idea is liked). This of course would have to be mutually agreed upon conditions, one user modifies the conditions, notification is sent to the other user to accept or reject the new condition.
This being implemented would be a great addition to the contracts system so I hope it's considered.
Nowadays? I'm just here for the nostalgia.
