Hello, I am trying to send an email in html using gmail and the way i go about it is i would put random place holders in the email then inspect the element and edit it as html and switch the place holders out for my html code. Once I do that everything seems fine and the email appears in html but once I send it it gets delivered as plain text.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me figure this out, thanks a lot!
Does Gmail even allow HTML by default? This honestly doesn't have to do with web development, seek help from Google.

It sounds like you're looking for something like this? I've heard of using web inspect to craft HTML emails in the Gmail interface. But it has been some time since I've heard anything about it. I can't say one way or the other whether it works today or not. You may just be doing it wrong, or it may no longer work. I imagine it's the former, as I'm sure the extension I just linked you to does just that, but for you. Either way, it may be a viable option for you.

Are you using just the regular compose window in gmail or are you sending it over smtp?

That definitely looks like it would be helpful I didnt think of looking for a chrome extension for it, thank you i will definitely try it out. And yes you were right I was doing it wrong, i input the whole html code instead of the body only. Now it works. Thanks a lot for your reply.
