Whats with the rising need for adroid rats?

A personal curiosity drive me to ask, what’s with this sudden rise in wanting to rat phones? It seems intresting but it seems almost consistent lately that I see people asking for it! So I am curious what’s with this new need?

Edit: I should state I am not sure if these guys are part of this or perhaps emulating what they are seeing.
I think it's depend in my case I need to get contacts of my clients because he had interesting business contacts..
You hold your computer in your hand with you everyday (phone). People keep valuable information almost enough if not more than they do on their phone than their PC's.

This

People use their phones more often than their computers now a days.
You have the same network access as youo do with a desktop or laptop and you carry it in your pocket.

Seriously consider how much of a problem peopole have when they loose their phone, they panic.
- All their contacts are on there
- All their communications both text and email are logged on the device
- Most people do online banking on their phones meaning their financial information is also stored on their phone.

Long story short. A phone is more valuable to hit with a backdoor data wise than a home computer now a days.
you're carrying a potential bug with you everywhere you go. plus mobile security isn't as developed as other areas such as server or pc security. for example, if you leave your phone lying around unlocked it takes less than a minute to backdoor that thing (I'm working on getting my time down though ;) ). once you're in you have access to tons of data. banking info, social media accounts, any network that phone connects to, user location, listen to any conversation and see anything the phone camera can see. you can access text, email, calls, call logs.
Interesting. Sounds like android stuff would be for more targeted use if you have to get physical access to the phone.
