You do not need any tools. You can use your fingernail or a saftey pin to remove the battery. Keep it out for 10 seconds and put it back in. It should wipe the password out.

do you know how to do it correctly on a lattitude 5480 dell
Search for the CMOS battery location here: https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/latitude..._en-us.pdf Use a plastic card or other plastic opening tool to pry open the laptops case to avoid damaging the case's plastic.

Normally when it comes to loaned hardware, you can't simply reset the bios by pulling the CMOS battery. They know this is a common workaround. So they use NVRAM to retain the bios settings. There is normally a jumper, pads, or screw that needs to be worked with to clear the NVRAM before you can clear the CMOS. Sometimes the jumper etc. clears both. I don't see the jumpers listed in the manual though. So I'd put the laptop back together only partially before checking the bios again. Otherwise, you may have to tear it apart again.
is there any point at that?...

i mean u can usually reset the bios by taking the battary off the matherboard
it works like 99% of the time...
and bypasses any password/....
Remove the CMOS battery and additional jumper. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube for how to take apart your laptop.
Since it is a dell, you should be able to put the serial number here - https://bios-pw.org/ and it will give you a password to input. It is case sensitive also you will need to press ctrl+enter for it to work.

Good luck
many tool are available in market to reset bios password and all

he broke
dont have usb
Removing the CMOS battery is only effective on some older laptops.

Generally on newer laptops you will need to short circuit the bios reset, could be hidden underneath you ram :)

Dont blow up your motherboard.jk.
