You can use your fingernail or a saftey pin to remove the battery. Keep it out for 10 seconds and put it back in. It should wipe the password out. Search for the CMOS battery location here: https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/latitude..._en-us.pdf Use a plastic card or other plastic opening tool to pry open the laptops case to avoid damaging the case's plastic.
Normally when it comes to loaned hardware, you can't simply reset the bios by pulling the CMOS battery. They know this is a common workaround. So they use NVRAM to retain the bios settings. There is normally a jumper, pads, or screw that needs to be worked with to clear the NVRAM before you can clear the CMOS. Sometimes the jumper etc. clears both. I don't see the jumpers listed in the manual though. So I'd put the laptop back together only partially before checking the bios again. Otherwise, you may have to tear it apart again.
Since it is a dell, you should be able to put the serial number here - https://bios-pw.org/ and it will give you a password to input. It is case sensitive also you will need to press ctrl+enter for it to work.
Good luck (Jan 19, 2019 04:16 AM)raam1 Wrote: Hello so ive been looking around a lot about the bios password that my oc has its a computer i got from school that we get to keep but its got a bios password and i want that removed anyone got some ideas and not that fkn site with the bios password i tried everyone of them and they dont work and i cant just open it up and take the bios battery out so any ideas software wise pls ty. 🎉 Try it with Hiren :https://www.hirensbootcd.org/ download it .... make a bootable Usb pendrive and then folow the steps from the Hiren website : https://www.hirensbootcd.org/howtos/ (Apr 14, 2019 01:16 PM)akela4you Wrote: Try it with Hiren :https://www.hirensbootcd.org/ he broke dont have usb |
