Clannad: After Story
Nagisa and Ushio's Death

Man, this anime made me lost my man's card.
Indeed one of the saddest anime ever, it really meant alot to me and it's one of the anime that I actually "TEARED" for.

There are 3 main characters inside this episode, Tomoya, Nagisa and Ushio.
So for people who have yet to complete this anime, I strongly encourage you to.
There are 2 seasons, Clannad and Clannad: After Story.
I will start by introducing each of these characters and also give a brief intro why this episode hit me so hard.

Tomoya:
He is the male protagonist of the anime. He got together with Nagisa in the first season of Clannad, during school years. ( Clannad = School years, Season 2 = Grown up )
Ever since his mother, Atsuko, died in a car accident when he was young, Tomoya has been living with his father whom he argues constantly. Tomoya was injured during a fight with his father three years ago; since then, their relationship has been very distant. TLDR, he is all alone since young, until he met those people in his school and mainly, Nagisa.

Tomoya later marries Nagisa ( in Season 2) , where they soon have a child, Ushio, together.

Nagisa:
Tomoya's Wife. Nagisa is very timid, and has a habit of saying the names of food that she wants to eat as a way of motivating herself. She wants to re-establish the suspended Theater Club, but does not have enough self-confidence to do so. Nagisa begins dating Tomoya, and the couple are married soon afterwards. Nagisa becomes pregnant with Ushio - unfortunately, due to her weak body, she passes away shortly after childbirth.

Ushio:
This couple's child, she is a well-behaved, well-loved girl who is very curious about the world around her.

So to summarize before we proceed to this episode,
Tomoya and Nagisa got together in season 1 as couples during school years. It felt like a long ride from season 1 to 2 as you continue to see their progression in each episode. So in season 2, they decided to get married and had a child named, Ushio. Tomoya is always all alone until he met nagisa and friends, that was when his life is finally "beautiful".

So in this episode..
Nagisa becomes pregnant with Ushio - unfortunately, due to her weak body, she passes away shortly after childbirth. Having felt he has lost everything, Tomoya leaves his daughter Ushio to live with Akio and Sanae for the next five years, where he constantly works and wastes money to forget the pain of losing Nagisa.
When Ushio turns five years old, Tomoya reluctantly takes her on a trip with him, where they quickly bond and he asks Ushio to stay with him.

Ushio contracts the same illness as Nagisa, and, grief-stricken, Tomoya quits his job to take care of her. She begs to go on a trip with him, and he agrees. As they walk towards the train station in the snow, Ushio collapses and dies in her father's arms.

I want you to imagine now,
- You are all alone since young
- You finally had a bunch of friends and your love of your life
- Things were so good, you grow up, you get married, you finally see a light in your life
- Due to some illness, your wife has passed away
- You are left with your daughter only
- You became depressed, things were so bad, you are back to square 1
- You then finally decided to get your shit together and take care of your daughter
- Your daughter DIES infront of you few weeks later, exactly like how your wife did
- Everyone left you, what more can you do?
- How would you feel if you're in this situation?

It really hit me hard, you probably can't tell how much it really is by reading what i've just written so i highly recommend you to watch it. YOU WILL NOT REGRET, take my vouch. He loses everything it hurt me so much, I felt the pain of losing someone who is very important.
And even its so hard to you need to face it stand still, for the people who was left behind..

Watch out for the part where Tomoya started crying in the train, BAAAM. Prepare your tissue fellow weebs.

Really want to re-emphasize on WATCHING than READING.
I'm not really a good writer but I hope i at least summarize this episode for you.
I may have spoilt you but I hope you can give clannad a chance.

- Clannad
- Clannad: After Story

lol. You just reviewed not only one of the pivotal episodes of the whole damn show, but you even spoiled previous seasons.

The whole point of the episode assignment was to pick any episode. I'm sure there are a lot more things that happen in this anime and more details not given from this one episode I can understand how you feel about this spoiling it for anyone who hasn't watched it but noted it states in the title what it is, you didn't have to read it if you know you haven't seen it. We appreciate your opinions and criticism next time we will make sure to title (spoiler for anyone who hasn't seen this anime)
Thank you for letting us know. Have a wonderful day :]

Tasked to review any episodes of our choice, apologize for spoiling.
Will take note and insert spoiler alert in the future, thanks for the comment!

I saw the anime like 7 yesrs ago so its not spoiled anything for me, just made me laugh the comment for spoilers came after the whole review of a pivotal episode, and after spoiling the first two episodes. I mean a review will always spoil something so I’m not dumb enough to come in here and be annoyed, just made me laugh is all.

Yeah, basically that. If you want actual feedback, you need to work on your formatting. Read professional reviews and understand how they articulate themself, how they structure their reviews and how it flows from one point to another. Have someone grammar check you before publishing to the public.
nice review! it makes me want to watch it again
