I'm going to force usage of Contracts for ALL DEALS as of March 1st.
We will be doing our best to relay this message to all members. We can make adjustments the system as needed by the community but there has been enough time for everyone to use Contracts. We have had it optional in all sections except for the Currency Exchange forum. However, members still have no adapted it enough imho in the other section. We also still have non-Contract scammer problems.
Anyone caught doing deals without Contract can face actions against their account including full account closure.
You got 1 month to figure out how you'll alter your threads and adjust sales.
Damn, I love this idea. Good work Omni.
I'm sure this will help a lot.
This is definitely for the best and gives a lot more protection to both parties. I'm surprised some people still aren't using them.

I've noticed it's a lot of new members, they just come here and expect a "quick" exchange/buying something without even reading the stickies in the marketplace section. I agree though, I can't wait to see this fully in action.
This is awesome news.

It was a blast being on staff. I stepped down as it's time for me to move on. I wish you all the best and if you were hit by my warnings and/or bans, it was nothing personal.
Peace out!
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
This is a great idea and honestly should have already been done. But better late then never I guess.
Is it possible to make a requirement for starting a thread or even POSTING in the marketplace be that you must be able to use contracts. In other words, contract banned users should be postbanned/thread banned from the marketplace.
But yeah most active members already use contracts for ALL deals on site anyways haha nice rule though! Could bump that March 1st to February 1st and remember to require the contract bb code for ALL threads in the marketplace instead of just a few subsections.
Happy to hear this, they should be enforced in autobuy threads

Great news, hopefully people will try there best to use them in dealing though.
Signature space for rent. Send me a PM or buy it here.
This is great. Gonna be fun seeing how many deal disputes eBook sellers will get now that contracts required.

We already do that in the CE section. Just a matter of adding FID's to the code. You can't post in CE without using the Contracts MyCode. I suspect we'll do a few things to improve how the MyCode works or at least do a better job with education for the system.
The video made by Business is awesome.

The thread from Vitani is just as good too.

It will be required in ALL MARKETPLACE THREADS. If you're using autobuy then you better figure out how to use Contracts with it.

Guys, can you give me some tips on how to alter a thread? Let's say I provide hosting services, so I advertise my website here. Usually, clients buy what they want on my website, and they get it delivered by email and such. How should I do if I need to respect that Contracts rules? (Let's say I am https://godaddy.com and I advertise it here on HF, how should I do?)
Thank you for your input guys, I'm looking forward to reading some answers.

Oh okay, I just asked for a bit of advice right before you posted this, let me know if I should delete it!
I'm starting to think about it as well.

I'm also interested in knowing this. Will my customers that signs up on an external site also be required to do a contract?
I don't mind, but just want to be sure that I understand the rules clearly so I don't mess up anything.

Yes but what I mean is when someone is contract banned, they shouldn’t be allowed to start a thread like this - https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5935699
Not a necessity, just qol updates.
Like switching [contract=tid] to replace [contract] and to have a blank one just make [contract=blank]. As most people only use the [contract] [/contract[ bb code atm but then the buyer has to fill out the uid and the thread link which is preventable with the contract=tid but not everyone knows/uses it so yeah. Quality of life tweaks.
Are we still allowed to use regular autobuy on our websites, and only have to enforce contracts on sales directly from our sales thread? Since not all customers are from HF. If yes, will we have to remove links to our website/service in the sales thread?
Also sorry if this has been answered, is there an API or something to integrate autobuy with contracts?
