CARDING | Scammed by iSoLaTe UID: 1004046 for $226 Venmo

Thread: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5935695

Contract: https://hackforums.net/contracts.php?act...&cid=24162

Description:

Yesterday, I did a deal with a member in exchange for my BTC for his Venmo. I thought the deal would be great since he agreed to go first. When the Venmo hit my account, I got an alert saying how this transaction would be reviewed because of their policy, and I was having a lot of trouble transferring it over to my bank. This really worried me because I've used this Venmo account for more than a year now, and I've never had this issue, even when dealing larger amounts. I sent the BTC anyway and thought time would solve everything. Today, I got an email saying that my account has been closed and that I can't get my balance out of my account.

It wasn't even the $226 amount that was in there, also a total of about $100 from smaller exchanges.

My best guess is that this user was carding, and I have this opinion for three different reasons.

1. This user changed his name on Venmo to a completely different name. He switched the profile name from one name to another. I have the old transaction in my email and the new one that's updated on Venmo

2. Some users were messaging me because they were suspicious this user was carding too. We found out that there were multiple Venmo accounts this user was using (all of them looking like legitimate accounts of people ex. having pictures, lots of friends, and transactions) Here are some PMs. Not sure if this will be useful (he has more rep than me)

3. This user has been unactive for the last six months, and comes back posting on lots of threads trying to buy as many things for Venmo. If you look at it, it's very suspicious he wants to buy a whole bunch of things and the only thing he offers is Venmo in return. Not to mention. he's offering large amounts. I am wondering if he scammed anyone else besides me.

Really sad about losing this $200 BTC...

If you wanted more proof of the payments, they were all completed:

This person is legit , i did an exchange with them yesterday.
Had a few deals with Night already guy is legit.

Sorry that this happened to you.
Yeah Venmo is complete ass, and who woulda thought lmao as it is owned by PayPal after all...

another reason you may have been closed was simply because of the caption "BTC exchange" - as it's against venmo's policy to use their platform to exchange cryptocurrencies.

Sorry for your loss though, I was in the same boat, my venmo account got closed but atleast I had already gotten all my funds out and into my bank before closure. I used my venmo everyday though :(

Is this considered a scam? Will his account be closed for this?

What am I going to do with $350 in my Venmo account?
this is incredibly sad and sad to see such a great person lose that amount of money, shouldve looked at the strange activity before and been sketched out...those 3 proofs really kinda are enough to prove who was the scammer and who was the scammed, he'll get banned cuz of the contract so other membeers are safe now woof

Well if you still have the $225 in your venmo account... I'm not sure if it is a scam?

If it's still there in 180 days, I'm pretty sure you can just withdraw it. You should have received the final closure email from Venmo with steps on how to get the funds.

Sorry to hear about your loss, looks real!

Isn't this the equivalent of charging back PayPal?
That's a tough loss, hopefully he gets banned.

Nowadays? I'm just here for the nostalgia.
Did an exchange yesterday with Night. Everything went well. Sorry to see this happen mate.

Thanks, hopefully this will be resolved but user has been ignoring my messages.
You should check if the funds were actually reversed/charged back. There is a huge possibility they closed your account for the "BTC Exchange" caption. In that case he didn't get the funds back, but you are still eligible for disputing the contract as the fault is on his end anyways.
Next to so many legit exchangers around here you went for the guy who wasnt active, doesnt have activated Gauth and has all around fishy profile with past scams. You basically asked for it though, this just goes to prove whatever tools HF provide members will still be dumb as fuck. Sorry for your loss but this one is entirely your fault.

Yes 100% my fault and I understand that I could have waited for another exchanger. That's not why I made this thread.

It's not a "fuck this guy" or a whining thread. I just want to warn other members and make sure his account is closed.

Thanks for the advice though, I will make sure to use these tools in the future! 👍 +3'd
