Yeah this wasn’t a mistake.
100% a jmod profited thousands off this... they don’t get enough so they’re enticed to pull some bullshit like this as an “accident” lol

Exactly this, you cant accidentally spawn a twisted bow there so many corrupt jmods/devs on the team they made a good profit.

I’d say maybe a handful. Definitely more nerds like Mod Ash that actually care about the integrity of the game and jsut love coding/runescape/the community and don’t care about their low pay than greedy fucks who abuse their powers.
Wouldn’t be surprised if someone has already gotten fired or disciplined behind closed doors.

it was a mistake there was supposed to be a twisted bush spawn but added wrong code.

Added the wrong code on purpose.
There’s no possible way this can go overlooked in testing before the live update.

I remember running a private server I would always test the id before actually spawning the object in, I was 12 years old at the time. Someone with a degree working for jagex didn't test to make sure it was working before going live?

Well, my guess is it was a rather big update and one of the lead developers must approve before it actually goes live. I don't think they would fire a lead developer for approving the update but find the developer that made the mistake and punish him for it.
edit: but then again.. it is the lead developers fault for approving it. I would never fire my lead developer for a mistake like that. I think they will have a meeting and talk about manually reviewing the code and stop being careless. Updates will take a lot longer to be pushed out now.

Or it goes deeper than that and literally ANYONE in the jagex headquarters coulda been responsible and they simply don’t know who or they do and already fired him behind the scenes.
All it takes is a janitor gone rouge to sneak some shit like that by. But if this was a conscious “mistake” then it seems a little too well played out to have not stemmed from someone on the OSRS team... we’ll never really know the real reason why it happened lol

This is not true. Maybe for some people who abused it very hard, but my mates still have their membership + no bans/warnings (and it was never taken away).

Yeah man. It will always be a mystery what happened, but I think it's an insult to the community if they expect us to believe it was just a random accident spawning many $1,000 items into the game every second.
Whoever the higher ups responsible for this are kicking back makin that money 🎉

But from my understanding of maintaining a code base like one for OSRS, they would have a version control repository and each and every commit is accounted for. So any changes pertaining to the addition of code would be reflected under a dev.
