Read about color psychology. There's plenty of studies on it and it's used in business marketing 24/7 by any company that is competent. Certain colors (red, for example) grabs your attention and associates feelings of power, energy, excitement etc. Red is probably the most used color in marketing.

I tend to agree because I personally do like a monotone look but at some point it's just boring. And if you don't like this change you are really not going to like what's coming. No sparkles though, I promise I'll never do that.

And I just disabled the online list for the site. So that's not a visual problem anymore.

The only reason i prefer being more active here than other similar forums is the fact that is the chill colors and not having too much stuff happening at the same time, it just hurts my eye and it doesn't make it look Professional.

Yes. Purple is the intermediate of Red and Blue. Blue with Blue will be too much, Blue with Red won't look good.

I don't think it's over the top. I disabled the Who's Online list. If by chance the colors are too much then likely I'll just attempt to create new colors for the usergroups that are more subtle and matching like different shades of blue.

Was mainly looking at blues, a couple of them looked decent on the forum. I really liked light purple and any of the greens as well.

I'm not really particular to anything one way or another though, just sharing what I think looks decent.

Actually applying it doesn't look as good as I thought it would in my head. Some colors were ok, but others were pretty far off when usernames weren't bold. You right.
