R00t Group Price

I love being a UB3R honestly and the fact the group isn't open anymore, I just feel like I am going to miss out on a lot of new features because I can't upgrade to rOOt now.  Is this something you're working on?  So UB3R can have access to all forum features as well?

I'll be the last ub3r 🤭 . Even sometimes i can accept directly but im gettig used too :D I still love hf no matter what I just hope we won't get to left out at the end 🤨

We will see who's the last one standing ;).

Hackforums is important to me and I'm definitely not going anywhere but, yes, I really hope we aren't left out.

Yes, but they inherit traits that would be useful to people like myself, and some that are even unrelated to being a seller.

For instance:

Warning Logs
Seeing past warning logs, goes both ways of being a buyer and a seller.

Seeing Invisible Users
Invisible users tells me if someone is scamming me by ghosting me, which has happened before.

Unlimited Edit Time
I have about 400 tabs open at once, and I'm always busy doing something. Right now, I have about 9 tabs that are strictly HackForums. Sometimes, my edits require more time, because I'm doing more things at once, or I'm trying to find research to back up my findings. This post, just itself, took me about an hour to refine, because I wanted to say it correctly, and I don't want to waste your time.

Unlimited Edits
While I would agree this is probably the most useful for v3ndors, it would be great if we had the ability to edit guides that are constantly changing.

Reputation (Extra 2 reputation and extra 25 reputation to give)
The entire reputation system was rehauled for many reasons. Reputation now has nothing to do with business reputation. It's my understanding, that is what B rating is for.

Max Length Quota
I had to space my guide out into 3 different posts because of the max post length setting. Some people just have a lot to say.

I get what you're doing with r00t, I really do. It makes sense from a business perspective to give people the exclusivity, and have them feel the same feelings I got when I got ub3r. I guess what I don't understand is why the above is only exclusive to v3ndor. Do you want to give sellers an advantage over buyers? Do you want to only promote marketplace discourse? If these are all "yes", then I guess my questions are answered, but, I don't think they're all yes. I think that people still use this for hacking tutorials, and many other things. This is HackForums afterall, it should be a ground for people who are interested in hacking, and maybe, buying hacking stuff.

If you find all those things really useful you can always apply for V3ndor and buy it (Since ub3rs cant buy root). It's simple as that.

Thank you for this boss man

I am not a seller of services or a product. The application has 3/5 questions orientated towards the assumption that the person is selling both products or services. It is unlikely that I will be accepted if these are the requirements to be accepted.

In my post, I justified all of the needs for those useful things from the perspective of a person who is not a seller.

Yeah forgot about that, you are right. Tbh i don't expect any of these features coming to Ub3r at all, only because there is too many people acting entitled to all of it.

I understand why you would find it useful but yep, V3ndor's gotta sell for something.

Anyways this is off-topic and we should stop it here haha

Unless I'm missing something (again, catching up here), I think the main issue Ub3rs take with the changes isn't the deprecation of the Ub3r group, it's the fact they can't ever reach R00t (and thus enjoy any R00t benefits) even if they wanted to. Is there a reason for that restriction? I think that's what will disincentivize future Ub3r participation in the HF community most.

It's how I expect millenials might feel if Microsoft forced them to stay on Windows Vista just because they enjoy avocado on toast.

This is confusing question.  Vendor is for those who are volume/bulk sellers on HF.  Why would someone who doesn't sell on HF need to have their privileges?

You have 1 Contract from 6 months ago.  And it's often new members who are buyers.  So the issue is helping those new members find good sellers and assisting them to avoid scammers.  Vendors helps to do that. I would actually consider banning all selling unless you're in Vendor group.  HF is making drastic marketplace changes.

I would actually love if only vendors could sell. Makes the group that much better. I've read the replies over and I understand now we might not see the end product vision but Omni does. We should trust it in his hands HF is making amazing progress in the last year I feel like the gears are really grinding.

SneakyBoots Discord or HF convo me.

Marketplace only for vendors? 😶
I used to sell nice stuff on HF.

These days all I can offer you are my services as a software engineer and as a Spanish teacher. The later is a hobby I still enjoy.

Pm if interested.

This would give people who are already vendors a huge advantage over people who are potentially going to be vendors. Also, this would force people to become consumers to become sellers. This would also effectively shut down the market here on HF, and not allow inventive people to sell their items. Got a new idea? Not on HF, you don't. Want to make money on a free market? Definitely not HF. Want to sell that shitty e-book to this one dude who turns out to be a raging sociopath and wants to kill your family, rape your dog, and delete your MySpace account because it didn't help him gain $10,000,000 in one month, then goes through the trouble to hire the ONLY hacker on HF which sits on your webcam watching you fap off to furry porn? Sorry, bud, not on this forum! This is, without a doubt, the worst idea for HF marketplace. Sorry, mate, I love your raps, but this shit is wack lmao.

I don’t understand some of the complaints tbh. You seem to be getting a lot of shit for trying to improve HF as a whole.

I paid 25$ for ub3r in 2011.. That’s 3$ a year! Why people think they’re entitled to all new features because they paid 25$ years ago is crazy. 🤣

that is hands down the worst idea ever. the possibility of someone upgrading to vendor, and scamming would increase exponentially, and would probably kill the site too.

I don't think that's the principle of the whole situation of people being mad. Doesn't really matter what they've paid, I think it's the whole change that everyone is hating.

There's a difference between giving Omni shit and constructively trying to understand his vision for the HF community moving forward. There's no need to be dismissive, and I think it's reasonable for Ub3rs with a near decade of participation to naturally expect some consideration.

I don't think the logic of the Ub3r group disappointment is based on past entitlements. To my understanding, it's moreso that Ub3rs are unecessarily barred from paying again for something that would otherwise enable them access to new and future features. I can understand why it seems like an unfair penalty, even if it's not actually yet a big deal in practice.
