[For Hire] Software Engineer, can build anything worth my time

I'm a Software Engineer specializing in holistic design and development. I have 5 years of professional experience working on small to large teams, building both client-facing and internal tools and apps.

I am now taking on projects of any size, one at a time.

Technologies

Front-end technologies I'm comfortable with:
  • Many flavors of JavaScript (ES5, ES6, TypeScript)

  • Angular 6+

  • React

  • CSS (CSS3, SASS)

  • Web components

  • HTML5

  • SEO

Back-end technologies I'm comfortable with:
  • Go

  • Python

  • PHP

  • SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)

  • No-SQL object store databases (MongoDB, AWS DynamoDB, AWS S3, etc.)

Platforms I'm comfortable with:
  • AWS

  • WordPress

  • BigCommerce

  • HubSpot

These are the sorts of things I can do for you:
  • Websites/webapps (static, single-page app, marketing, blogs, etc.).

  • Web services (REST API's, microservice architectures, etc.).

  • Cloud distribution (AWS).

  • Scripting (you name it)

Pricing

There is no fixed price for any project, so don't ask me how much something costs. You pay for the outcome, and for the positive returns you will yield as a result of a successful project.

Other factors go into pricing, such as the complexity and duration of the work.

There are no quick $5 jobs here. This is serious work.

Managed Services

Business requirements change over time. Managed services provide a way for you to keep me in the loop and get continued development efforts as your project and business mature.

The details of Managed Services - as well as the pricing of it - can be discussed as that time approaches, but generally speaking I can provide monthly managed services for a fraction of the cost of the project itself.

Contact

Send me a private message or reply to this thread and tell me what you're looking to get done. We can grab an e-coffee and discuss the details over a video call or other.
Send me a PM with your portfolio.

Nice set of skills. Good luck with the service you are providing!
Good stack. Good luck in your business :)
Taking jobs now, please reply or DM with your inquiries.
Bumpity bumpity bump bump :)
Alright I'm a little curious, I'll admit. I'm a broke college student so I know there are no quick $5 jobs; but I wouldn't expect to be able to shell out more than $25 or $30.

How would you feel about taking some rudimentary Python botnet code I have and upgrading it a little, ideally in a not-too-sophisticated manner so I could learn from your modifications. For instance, instead of IRC C&C, a PHP database + http frontend -- or if that's too much work maybe a conversion to C++ with similar features (quite basic code; connect and print hardware stats basically, then give botnick for IRC).

But yeah, I'm mostly interested in learning small things so this may not be what you're looking for.

And if I'm not clear, using common or rudimentary methods. No need to burn any creative FUD ideas or anything like that you may have.

Hey, sorry but this kind of work will go beyond $30. It's not a million dollar project, but $30 isn't worth my time, unfortunately. That's less than an hours pay.

If you have any questions or need some programming advice, feel free to PM me, I'm always happy to help. I won't charge you any money, but don't expect me to just write code for you.

Hey sure thing, I knew I was probably wasting your time by even asking lol, my apologies.

And thanks! I might take you up on that sometime! I'm kind of in between coding projects right now (or have been for months), so may not be anytime soon, but I'll try to remember that!

Yeahhhh, not super familiar with much coding beyond my amateur skills but this isn't super surprising. Quality work = quality pay and whatnot.
You list being comfortable with a lot of languages but do you have a comprehensive proficiency in any of them?

I'm proficient in Golang, JavaScript for programming languages, proficient in Angular for front end frameworks, extensive knowledge of various AWS services as I used this for 2 years at a government contractor I worked for...I could keep going on (I don't mean that in a cocky way). Feel free to interview my skillset live.

Edit: I am also very comfortable with PHP, and have used Java in the past. Others like Python, too. Basically, I can pick up any C-based language in an afternoon, and can hit the ground running and build anything practical with Go/JavaScript/PHP without any upfront "learning" as those are my strongest languages.

I am open to anyone who disbelieves my claims to invite me to an open video call and ask me any question you want about the tech in front of an audience so I can embarrass myself if all of this is a lie haha. :)

Edit 2: Ironically enough, I first learned to code on HF. Check my first post from 7 years ago where I literally asked "How to code?" when I was a teenager. C++ was my first programming language for a few months before I started learning PHP and doing web development, which subsequently led to my first full-time Software Engineer job when I was 18. That is where I was introduced to Go, and never looked back, though I used PHP and others throughout that time for various people I've worked for. I've come a long way, that's for sure.

So, yeah...there's a brief history of my knowledge and how I came to make this (very authentic) post.
