I agree with you entirely. We should never have it. However, deepdotweb wasnt taken down for offering escrow. They just gave links and promoted the markets. However, they provided referral links which they received btc comissions from, which they then laundered.

How is it not a safe marketplace already? After implementing the contract system it’s gotten a lot safer to do deals. Yes there are still scams occasionally. But it’s rare and they are often if not always dealt with.
Also it’s all about not being a dumbass. Watch who you are dealing with and do background checks. Easy as that.

Don't need escrow. Contracts are doing a great job, since implementing them I have had less and less hassle with payments. Love the contract system and its the best thing to come for the marketplace.
