I’m a begginer hacker and want to be a master one day. My question s do the hackers that steal millions of credit card and personal info, and break into companies system, use stuff like Kali Linux. Or do they use 100% their own tools? So should I bother learning Kali?
Other question.
I’m interested in exploit development but not exactly sure how it works. So when your making a exploit are you exploiting Linux it’s self, or something unique to the system that your hacking?
You seem to not know anything about what you are saying. People have various ways of carrying out attacks, and Linux is one of the more favorites operating systems by Hackers because of the tools available for Linux, however most people obtain data by breaching databases and downloading the data that why through vulnerabilities on a system. Learning Kali right off the bat wouldn't make much sense to you, start with actually learning attack methods and how they work before moving on to Linux since you are probably more use to a graphical UI than CLI. And yes, some people do use public tools since they exploit well known vulns however most of the vulns are known and patched/mitigated in some way, which is why people use private techniques for carrying out their attacks. You need more insight on how things work before learning to attack them.
I think someone stealing millions in credit cards doesn't have enough integrity to care about what they use.
Don't mistake criminals for hackers.

Is there any reason why kali is so popular amongst hackers? What would give a Linux user advantage when compared to say a Windows user
Ok thanks for the help. But how would I go about finding unknown vulnerabilities when I know enough to? And I’m still wondering about my 2nd question.
Hackers are the ones that create the tools you mentioned.
Ok thanks for the help with the noob questions.you mentioned about learning about the attack’s first. There are tons of tools, what would be a good place to learn? I’m also talking about flaws like zero day. It’s going to take me years to be able to do that but how are they found? Like I said if your hacking a company would you try and find a flaw in the companies servers them self’s?

Because computers started at the command line and those who made the tools typically grew up with that. It gives you more control over what you do and can go beyond some of the limitations that Windows users face. Kali is a distro specifically designed for penetration testing/ethical hacking. It's a compilation of popular tools available mostly on Linux and some windows combined with a Debian linux distro. It's like having something being dedicated for one task and being good at it, instead of being spread out if that makes any sense

A lot of these hacks you hear about in the news are actually often not massively sophisticated and use premade tools. A few years ago there was this group called [censored] who breached a bunch of sites and in reality they were using a lot of simple exploits and already made tools to do a lot of it.
If you want to be a really skilled hacker then yes you will make your own tools as it will help you to automate things and make your life easier. But don't be afraid to use tools like Kali etc because they are very good and you don't need to reinvent the wheel!

Thanks for the vid, great watch. That man was an absolute idiot
Good video! Loved if. That man wasn’t really that smart.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
Most of the times, you don’t need to reinvent the wheel, you just use it. And this applies in many ways, such as coding and hacking. If you can do what you need to do with what’s available, then you’re good to go. If not, make it yourself!

Less resource consumption, Kali comes with tools you won't find for windows, or will work on + everything is open source so everything even low level functions of lets say kali you can alter or rewrite to your needs unlike windows. Ruby, python and perl comes with every linux distribution no need to install these prerequisites which most scripts in linux use. People who make programs on windows more than likely either sell the programs and it's obfuscated you can't even understand how the program actually utilizes it's code. Also let's say your locked out of windows, you can use linux's filesystem to access the "locked" windows filesystem as well.
TDLR; Windows is for the people who don't care how these programs work and are actually less likely to develop their own exploits or programs and don't mind the limited access they are provided to the OS itself.

Depends you could exploit linux itself but more or less you are going to try to exploit the software/services running on the machine.

This is a great explanation, thank you sir!
