idk how this will affect bytes prices, interesting option!

Those are some pretty good ods i do agree
Sounds great Omni!
Guaranteed win caught my attention

At the current prices of bytes being somewhere around $7/1000

You're making $40 more worth with the scratchcard (assuming you don't get unlucky and hit on something lower than average return).

20000 x 0.007 = $140

Definitely a more viable option for buying bytes in bulk if you're feeling lucky and don't want to wait around for a big bytes holder to sell to you.

All in all, you can think of this card as only being $70 because even if you get the lowest payout (5000 bytes) that's worth about $30.

We just added a new 9 slot scratchcard for $100 which has guaranteed wins.

5000 Bytes 42%
10000 Bytes 40%
25000 Bytes 10%
50000 Bytes 5%
100000 Bytes 2%
250000 Bytes 1%

Prizes of the games can always be viewed from the buy page (linked above) by clicking the trophy icon.

Enjoy everyone.

I don't think this graph is quite right. Ok so let's assume that somebody with standard luck buys 100 Scratchcards for 10.000 dollars.
42 of them will win 5000 bytes
40 of them will win 10.000 bytes
10 of them will win 25.000 bytes
5 of them will win 50.000 bytes
2 of them will win 100.000 bytes
1 of them will win 250.000 bytes

(42 x 5000) + (40 x 10.000) + (10 x 25.000) + (5 x 50.000) + (2 x 100.000) + (1 x 250.000) = 1.560.000 bytes

So, our guy spent 10.000 dollars and got 1.560.000 bytes in exchange
If he had spent 1 dollar he would have got 156 bytes in exchange
Furthermore,If he had spent 6.5 dollars he would have got 1000 bytes in exchange

I think this is a nice feature to have. More money,no loss guaranteed. However if HF itself sells bytes for 6.5$ per 1k average then the marketplace is going to drop down to at least 5- 5.5$ per 1k.
If the price drops down to 5$ per 1k, then selling bytes in bulk will be about 4$ per 1k or even less.
Having said that, this is going to hurt scratchcards selling in the long term. Why would someone want to buy 10$ worth of scratchcard in order to get back 1000 bytes in average when he can just buy them for 4$ per 1k from the marketplace. So,my opinion is that it's a nice feature short term, however long term, you are probably going to lose more money than you can acquire now selling these scratchcards. However if this feature is limited edition only, then it's worth for you guys.I am not trying to be a smartass here. I am just voicing out (actually just typing) my opinion. If I did the math wrong and the whole equation is wrong,I am sorry,I feel a bit sleepy
Would be surprise last night I catch a lick on them bytes

Can't wait to see people's winnings.
Quote:The game is simple and if you'd really want to play a game like this there are plenty of them which are much more advanced.

Development is going to take a lot of time for our Hack Game.

Quote:I think these updates don't really make the site better quality but are just a good way for Omni to generate extra income.

Which is used to pay for further development and my time I spend on HF as well as HF services.

Quote: I like updates that stimulate people to post better content, share knowledge and educate people.

So do I. Those type of updates are great. That's why the Bytes system was created and why I continue to nourish it.

Bytes are multi-faceted for the site. They are used primarily as a rewards system. The Hack Game is about stickiness and giving members more of a reason to be on HF other than just posting.

Quote:I think this is a great addition though I would like to see some limited awards to come from it at a limited stock of them or something xD. get ppl more involved in awards maybe idk. Great addition though =)

If there is anything that's old on HF it's awards. I'm not sure they have the same appeal they did years ago.

HF is a struggle. We can't stay the same but we can't go too far out of our comfort zone either. I can only try to do what I think is right for the site. Doing nothing is not an option.
