Development is going to take a lot of time for our Hack Game.


Which is used to pay for further development and my time I spend on HF as well as HF services.


So do I. Those type of updates are great. That's why the Bytes system was created and why I continue to nourish it.

Bytes are multi-faceted for the site. They are used primarily as a rewards system. The Hack Game is about stickiness and giving members more of a reason to be on HF other than just posting.


If there is anything that's old on HF it's awards. I'm not sure they have the same appeal they did years ago.

HF is a struggle. We can't stay the same but we can't go too far out of our comfort zone either. I can only try to do what I think is right for the site. Doing nothing is not an option.

I agree with almost everything you're saying here and I'm really happy that you have the right vision. I was doubting it at some point because it started feeling like a situation where you were just trying to get as much out of HF while it lasted. I just hoped the byte system would be used to reward people for sharing interesting/educative stuff that helps this community. Now it's mostly used for trading awards/gambling/the game.

I still hope that people can make threads where they sell an e-book with knowledge for like 50 bytes per person. This would to me be a really good solution to motivate people to write educative things and get rewarded for it.

The one you buy only with Bytes would become a Bytes factory and the $25 one already has solid win percentages.

Not sure what you mean.. But it's the same, but on the other cards you have a chance of losing
Example on the $25 card = 28,445% chance of losing on the card after calculating all win percentages
