If you want to learn C or C++, read this post before doing anything else

No my reply to you got tagged onto the bottom of the other one.

Okay, well to get back on topic, I'm just saying, a good teacher would want as many people as possible to learn, not tell people to leave this forum and leave it up to him and other already taught programmers. I haven't even seen great examples of what he can do, and seems to be he's butthurt about his thread not getting stickied. I'm still trying to figure out whether he's some old prune like he claims to be (73 years old) or if he's a childish flamer. In any case, have a good day.

First great teachers recognize things like talent and develop it. I wish people would pull their head's out of their ass..not everyone has the ability to program at a high or low level. It takes talent and determination to succeed in this field.

Wanting to be a hacker is not enough...

Only way people are really going to find out whether they have the ability is to try it and see if they do.

I agree with you on almost all points but this one. There's a difference between an internet forum where the rules don't really affect (or is it effect? I can never fucking remember <.<) someones standard of living or physical body. I can't punch you through the internet. Other than that, I do agree with you that people should search the forums first, but chances are, they're just some retard looking for a book that they'll probably
1. Not understand
2. Not get around to reading
3. Not be grateful for
Just ignore them, it really doesn't matter one way or another.
If you're going to resolve to flaming and cussing around your to-be-the-savior-of-the-section topic will just end up being closed.
Now chill out and cool off.
To add to this thread, I recommend the VTC C/C++ tutorials if you're a visual learner. They're pretty good imo. They only cover the basics though.

QFT. It's a public forum, where the public comes to find help. If all you're going to do is complain about people not using search/not having adequate motivation/being too young then go start your own forum and you can moderate it in whichever way you see fit. Stop crying about what other people do on the internet, because no matter how hard you try to be the white knight, your chances of stopping it are zero. Being an a**hole and then saying "read these ebooks that I uploaded because I'm so mad" is a horrible way to help people that are seeking it. Grow up a little and ignore the threads you think are stupid.

So you are alright with people asking the same retarded questions over and over with no effort put in on their end? Wanting to be a hacker is not enough, people should put some true effort into it.

No one is disagreeing with that, the problem is people are not tring they are posting mindlessly without searching even hackforums let alone Google. If you want to program and make it past the basics you will have to learn to find information for yourself and try to fix problems without other peoples help.

If you ever want a job you can't tell the person in the interview that you need to use the computer(or phone) to Google that question (one sec).

I don't think a sticky will help for there is plenty in the sticky (tho old) that still works and could prevent (insert made up % here) of threads.
Eh, nice thread... And sorry bout your limitedness :P It sucks when alternate reality catches up, does it not?

BTW nice vocabulary FTW. If I was ub3r, I would counter F*k rep you for it.
sbrg's brilliance shines through in threads like these. I gave him a +rep specifically for everything that has occurred in this thread.
People need to stop being such children, quite whining and holding onto their pathetic "rules against rude behavior" and realize what a dump the C/C++/Obj-C boards (especially) have become.
[edit]
And much more importantly, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Why don't we even have a moderator anyway?
Please have my babies sbrg <3

It gets tiring saying the EXACT SAME FUCKING THING to imbeciles who are too lazy to SEARCH THE FUCKING FORUMS or USE GOOGLE.

Therefore sbrg's alternate universal self stooped to using piracy and uploading some ebooks to attempt to help solve the problem.

While I agree that this thread should be stickied, the CURRENT sticky doesn't even get looked at by people. The current sticky is also so horribly out of date it's mind-boggling.

I am now making it a personal policy to give -3 reps to people who make those kinds of threads within this section. This will not apply to people who've already put forth some effort (IE people who may have been using a tutorial or book and want further resources for learning). This will apply to "hi i herd C++ is a gud languaeg pls giv me tuts thx". Posts made before this edit will not have this applied, since I'd hit the daily rep limit in a minute or 2.

You are so right... I hope your enforcement works out. 😎

Stupidity plays a simple role in society....something has to be food.

How did you manage to survive this long....you should be moving through somethings small intestine right now.

I think frustrated would be a better word.

And you are also on my list of favorite people in this group. The C++/C/Ob-C Programming section is a HUGE mess.. 😟
Bump for usefulness, please sticky this someone good god >.>
