I am not impressed with the price/performance ratio personally. A $500-$700 GPU can get you pretty much the exact same gaming experience without any perceptible difference.

A regular RTX 2080 can be had for <$700, but you can also look at the Radeon RX 5700 XT and RTX 2070 as both offer far superior value with still good performance. Check benchmarks to see what the actual differences are. 100FPS vs. 115FPS is completely unnoticeable for pretty much all games.

It's incredible that there is only a ~15% increase in performance for that much of a price hike.
