What if everyone in the world just decided they didn't want to go to work that day for 24 hours straight.
There wouldn't be taxi's available, boats/planes, all stores would be shut down, no gas stations. You get the point
Almost everyone would be off the road unless they are traveling to be with family.
It truly would be a day where "the earth stood still"
Economically speaking - the damage would be immense. The wealthier classes bank on the poorer classes slaving away on a 9-5 to make industry (thus their pockets) profitable and stable. A total rework of the laboir and class systems would drastically improve life for everyone, unfortunately we are all stuck in this facade of capitalism and work till you drop.
Everything would collapse, I love these types of questions.
Here's a YouTube channel that posts videos about these questions:

This. Especially if it was pre-planned, everything bought before, no using your cards, withdrawing money. One of the most powerful forms of protest we could use is just staying in bed all day. However, we're so divided, people have their own agendas and we would never be able to organise something like this.

Not really. Just if it ever comes to it, I like the idea of laying in bed gently fondling my balls all day in the name of protest rather than getting tear gassed and clubbed.
I guess I'm just a romantic.

It was tongue in cheek anywho, the whole notion of slaving away in a capitalist society compared to a more socialist social safety net as the preferred norm as the latter is considered evil baffles me. Especially because the wealthy somehow convince the masses that having a proper social safety net is evil (and bad for their net worth).

I have to admit, I missed the tongue in cheek aspect and thought you were going to go all rootin' tootin' ''AMMMERICA F*CK YEAH!'' And I just really couldn't be bothered with that back and forth.
But yeah, you're right and that's what I was getting at with us being divided. I think people just miss the point when it comes to us wanting a more equal distribution of wealth. It's not about McDonald's workers wanting $30 dollars an hour. it's about the money that comes from the very top echelons being used to improve our society as a whole, which in turn would improve our standard of living and make wages go further.

What OP stated happened in Israel a few days ago.
Don't know if people know this or not but in Israel we have 1 day each year when EVERYTHING stops.
And by everything I mean literally everything (Of course police and etc still active).
No1 drives a car or bike, most people stay at home and some walk down the streets but literally everything stops for 25h.
I can find some pics of Tel Aviv on that day if you guys are interested to see how cool it looks (Tel Aviv is the second most populated city in Israel)
Sounds like we would get a taste of what it was like before electricity.
I wouldn't mind this as it's almost an experiment to see how people our age would do in a situation like that.
Or not "our" age, but ya'll who are in your 20s+ lol.
If you COOL AF fine you can be 18+.
bugga told me I'm a cutie
I would be interested to see the stockmarket this day 😎
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
Hahaha sounds like a Peppa pig type of question. I see explosions in different zones of the planet. Fatal accidents on highways. Robbery and my peeps in jail walking free.
Well for sure the world will be a whole lot different on that particular day.
would definitely be an interesting sight, i guess a lot of stuff will collapse with doctors and firefighters etc. not working for a day
